Was anyone else waiting for this to happen?

When Desomond was ranting to Ms. Hawking over them going back to the island was anyone else waiting for him to get clobbered by that giant Foucault pendulum?

I did think it was funny how he kept jumping in between it over and over. I actually expected him to angrily grab it and toss it in the air or something.

In the commentary thread I said I was waiting for him to get clobbered. In fact I was thinking of doing that for the av contest.

Notice how Hawking actually stopped once and let it pass before continuing.

Yeah, it would have killed some of the drama of the scene, but I'm pretty sure everyone was expecting it.

You know the scene from 'The Office' where they Dunder-Mifflinites were sitting in a meeting totally ignoring Michael and fixating on watching the DVD screensaver to see if it bounces perfectly into the corner?

That was what the pendulum scene was like in my house. We were completely ignoring the dialogue (we had to go back and watch it again) just waiting for Desmond to get smacked by the pendulum. I was like "here it comes... almost there... stay on target... almoooooost there.... dammit, missed!"

It would have totally disrupted the scene, but they should have done it. You know they had people walking through the arc of the pendulum on purpose just to mess with the audience. Damn teasers.
