Warpath Discussion Thread (major, major spoilers)

Annorax, iirc, Q won a free copy of Warpath by spotting that they'd made a mistake.

So, uhm, Marco would the hell know why it hadn't been sent out or if it had.

So less of the attitude please.

How would I know this from reading this thread? I'm not psychic or anything.

@Q: I guess I'm not the only one getting pseudo-free books. It'd be nice to get mine signed, though. I have to wonder why you'd feel the need to pull postcount rank, though... that just screams jerk to me... quite possibly a bigger jerk than me. I fully expect to be banned for this, but you really should find a more solid stick to whack the n00bs with. Perhaps that green one you don't have?

Probably because you were kind of a jerk first, dude. The question was directed at Marco, after all, not you.

EDIT -

And Tenmei, lucky you. Amazon's still holding on to mine. :(

Hmmmm, I thought America had already sent out all of theirs - Canada's normally a week or two behind !

I'm gathering you didn't read the "Warpath Excerpt" thread in your surfing in the nearly 2 months you've been hanging around this forum? :D

Now, that's an interesting comment from someone who just a day or so ago complained that Amazon hadn't shipped their copy yet. :vulcan:

There are always conventions, Annorax. It's not like the authors never go to these things or anything. ;)

BTW, Annorax, haven't you ever heard the old saying that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar? If you give out a "big jerk" attitude, then I would recommend not being so indignant when you get that same attitude in return. :)

^ Okay everyone, enough. If this brawl's gonna keep goin', take it outside, please.

What, so everyone can keep telling you how wonderful you are? ;)

Dave, who's the new Science Officer now that Shar's gone?

If you're talking about a central-character type, we haven't identified one. But Warpath does bring back some of the spear-carriers from Mission: Gamma.

Pot, may I present Kettle? :lol:

Nah, I don't expect the Science Officer to be a central character. But it always ticked me off in Season 7 how they never identified who had replaced Jadzia as Science Officer.

Ah, I see. Well, in the fiction we've made a point of establishing minor supporting characters along the way so that it's easy to imagine qualified personnel stepping in when circumstances require it. :)

Geez, buddy, who pissed in your Cheerios? When I "pulled postcount rank", I included a " ;)". This, to most people anyway, would clearly indicate that I was funnin' ya. :rolleyes:

(" :rolleyes:", by the way, is meant to clearly indicate :rolleyes:.)

As for a "more solid stick", perhaps the one lodged in your ass?

Don't you kids make me come out there . . . .

( scans shelf . . . ponders the variegated supply of canned whupass )

( steel-toed-boot? . . . black-and-blueberry? . . . jalapeño? . . . habañero? )

( grabs one of each, just be safe )

This is for Brendan and EMH, if you had to give it a 1-10 rating what would you give it? I was just wondering because there seemed to have a fair amount of stuff you did and didn't like.

I don't usually like to rate things out of 10 (or 5, or whatever), because squeezing a complex, subjective opinion into a simple, objective scale is quite difficult, so my judgments move around a lot. But since you ask... 6.5 or 7 out of 10, I guess, which for me is a very mild positive.

Dave, Dave, Dave. Still using canned? You haven't moved to the standard-issue self-warming WRS (Whupass-Ready-to-Serve) yet?

You're slipping, buddy. I'll loan you a couple of mine, but that's it. I expect them back after your next book gets out, dude. :cool:

We now return you to your Warpath discussion, already in progress....

You can keep your new-fangled fancy-shmancy imitation whupass, young'un. I prefer to dish out my whupass the old-fashioned way.

<old man voice>
Hell, in my day, we had to open cans of whupass with our teeth and hold 'em with our fingers over the fire before we could serve 'em . . . and we LIKED IT!
</old man>

^ You two should just take the act on the road and be done with it..... :guffaw:
