Warp Drive

In 40 plus years of Star Trek there are bound to be continuity errors, most of which I can live with but here is one in relation to warp drive. In an episode of DS9 "By Infernos Light" Kira orders Dax to go to warp to catch a hi-jacked Runabout. Dax replies like this "Go to warp inside a solar system?!"

Without going to far into, that makes some logical sense but including this film and I think the rest of Star Trek they all go into warp before they even leave orbit. Just to be clear, this is not a nerd nitpick, just something interesting:)

Come to think of it, did the whole set of warp effects (going to warp, the "star tunnel" visual effect while in warp, and coming out of warp) remind anyone else of the hyperdrive effects from the Star Wars movies?

No, the starfield wasn't spinning enough for me unless I start drinking then we'll see but it was still pretty cool.

No, not really, sorry.

The new effect did remind me a little of the Star Wars hyperspace, but only because of how chaotic it was.

Also, wouldn't the debris have hit the ship at warp speed, or when they warp into Io's atmosphere?
Perhaps this version of warp REALLY messes with subspace. Makes sense, especially to explain why weapons and transporters aren't really effective at warp speed.

The part where the ships actually go to warp did remind of Star Wars' hyperspace jumping.
