He's the Joker we need, not the Joker we deserve.
I'll ask it again, give me an example from something the character does in the trailer that shows the character is not the Joker, Not the costume. Not the tattoos, Actual words and actions. What is the actor doing in the film that shows he's "practicing how to not be the Joker". You may not like his process, but that hardly means he's going to do a bad job. Back up your hyperbolic hysteria with actual evidence.
He's a Joker for the 21st century.
He's the Joker we need, not the Joker we deserve.
Mark Hamil is the Joker everyone needs (really the only one, although obviously would never have worked for live action), but Leto's Joker in name only is the crappy characterDCEU deserves.
I like how you get in a hissy fit because someone is presuming to speak for you, and then here you are trying to speak for me. Mark Hamil isn't the Joker I need, he's not even my favorite Joker, that would be Nicholson, and I thought Heath was pretty good too.
If you're going to have an opinion it should an intelligent informed opinion, It should be one you can articulate and support. Not just hyperbolic, over the top use of words like "stupid", "crap" or calling the director a "moron". You may not convince me, but you should at least give an intelligent argument. I may not agree, but I will respect the opinion. So I'll ask again: give me an example from something the character does in the trailer that shows the character is not the Joker, Not the costume. Not the tattoos, Actual words and actions. What is the actor doing in the film that shows he's "practicing how to not be the Joker". You may not like his process, but that hardly means he's going to do a bad job.I have enough evidence for my own opinion. I don't need to see the character do crap to know he is crap. There is literally no universe where this Joker will; not be garbage. No Joker that looks like that won't be worrible. no Joker written by an moron like Ayer won't be horrible. No Joker played by Jared Leto will be anything but the worst. The trailers and interviews have made that much clear to me. You can have whatever opnion you want. You seem already convinced that I need to wait until the movie comes out (and probably watch it 20 times while taking notes) before I can make a judgment on Joker.
I personally don't feel that way, and since its my opinion I can decide what helps me form my opinion. What I've seen and read is enough for me, and will obviously never be enough for you, which is fine. I don't care if anyone agrees with me.
Yeah, he was pretty much just playing a version of himself who just happened to look like the Joker.Never a fan of Romero and Nicholson is a little too Nicholson for my taste. In comics I don't care much for a joker who's too clownish.
I know I said it before, but I love that shot. It strikes as an absolutely perfect Joker moment, and of course the "I'm not gonna kill you, I'm just gonna hurt you real bad", line in the first trailer. After those two moments I'm pretty much sold on Leto's Joker. All you mentioned was a bed of knives.

Typical. you give up and have no interest in having an actual discussion. You just want to rant and rave and hide behind trite expressions like "I'm not going to try to justify myself" or " my opinion" and accusations of insults. The character doesn't reallydo anything in the trailers, except possibly torture Harley Quinn, which is so definitely not her origin its painful, but we don't know he's torturing her, so whatever. The actor sending condoms and talking about the Joker being a shaman is why he's "practicing how not to be the Joker". His appearance shows exactly what Ayer is going for, and its not the Joker. This is the last time I intend to talk about this specific thing. Its as legitimate as any other opinion. I think my argument is intelligent enough, and I'll never convince you no matter what I say. That's fine, because we are obviously about as far apart as its possible to be when it comes to opinions on this.
So, yeah, I'm not going to try to justify myself, because I don't have to, and I'm not going to respond to insults of my opinion on Joker anymore. Its getting monotonous, and I think I've put up a perfectly fine argument as to what formed my opinion on this Joker, and this movie. I don't care what anyone thinks of the opinion, or how I came to that opinion. Its the worst Joker I've ever seen, and in my opinion the worst incarnation I've ever heard of. Just like how its Harley Quinn and Enchantress are the worst versions of those characters.
And I'm loving the creepy new laugh.I know I said it before, but I love that shot. It strikes as an absolutely perfect Joker moment, and of course the "I'm not gonna kill you, I'm just gonna hurt you real bad", line in the first trailer. After those two moments I'm pretty much sold on Leto's Joker.
Hence all your subsequent posts.I've given a bunch of reasons, and obviously you won't accept any, so it seems pointless to go over it again
After seeing the trailer for this in front of Captain America: Civil War last week, it looks like it could very well be quite good. Digging the looks and attitudes of Robbie as Harley and Leto as the Joker in particular. It's not really a project I would have had any excitement for personally, but I'm now interested.
I was looking through the lists of all of the characters who have been in the Suicide Squad, and in the list for the movie it says Scott Eastwood is play Nemesis, but the page for the movie still has just Eastwood's name with no character. Does anyone know where Eastwood as Nemesis would have come from? I haven't seen it anywhere else.
