there aren't many people who get around that much. For a tramp / politician / pope you are too young. Are you a trucker by any chance?
I'm a mild mannered civil engineer by day and MBA student by night.
We have gone to dinner twice in 10 years (if not traveling or being paid for by others), been to 4 movies, don't go to concerts, attend maybe 1-2 sporting events per year, and live as cheaply as possible, so when there is some place fun we want to visit, the money is saved up and the trip is paid for in advance.
Coworkers and friends find up somewhere between spartan and miserly, then get jealous when we go someplace random we wanted to see.
Off to National Park #22 of 58 next month (Shenandoahs), then a week in Iceland in September.
We also travel cheap. Paying tuition on a frequent flyer credit card got me a trip to the Desert Southwest in engineering grad school, and I have almost 100,000 miles from careful charging on this current card and my MBA tuition. My balance is about $150 right now.
When traveling, we camp or stay at no frills motels, and we go to a grocery store every morning and get stuff for breakfast and lunch, then get a hearty dinner to bring back to the room, so no drinks or tip.
It's not tough if you are disciplined and know your budget.
