Voyager would have been better if Harry had left instead of Kes

She was the only reoccurring guest star Voyager had (tal celest was in two episodes I admit, but I would have preferred her as being in a second episode of Sliders.) that hadn't first been on TNG, and you call her an "extra". Yes there are no small parts, only small actors, but that's bullshit, and by definition an extra is moving wallpaper just people floating in the background to make it seem like there was a hundred and 50 people on Voyager.

13 epiosdes in all. 4 before we knew she was a cardassian, one more in the first season where she's uncovered. 5 adventures in season 2, two in seaosn three, one of which is already after she died and then almost half a decade later they think to put her in Shattered.

Of course she wasn't a main cast member but she also wasn't an extra. Martha was always on set to do something special and with purpose, it wasn't like berman showed up with a pickup somewhere near the seedier recesses of Burbank and handed out 5 dollar bills to any unpapered migrants who hopped in the back of said pickup.

You made the statement that it was rare to give so much screen time to "extras"(your word not mine). I pointed out that they gave allot of screen time to many other characters over time such as Icheb, Niomi, Suder & Seska. If Vorik served a purpose by your definition, then he wasn't an "extra" either but yet he is because he nor Seska are listed under "also starring" or "guest star" in the credits. Folks like Joel Grey & Virginia Madsen are guest stars and are labeled in the credits as such.
