Voyager: Post Endgame crash course!

Hi, my first post - be gentle

I've recently got back into the Trek novels after some time away, and I've read everything since TNG: Resistance, so I've followed the big Destiny series. One thing I haven't kept track of is Voyager. Full Circle has arrived today in the post, and I know from reading the Destiny trilogy that a fair bit has happened for the characters in that series!

Basically I'm wondering if anyone here can point me to a website, or briefly explain themselves, the major plot points since Endgame. Basically, what do I need to know to enjoy this book. A 'Previously on...' if you will

Well most Trek books these days, even if they're part of a series, will give you enough info so that you can enjoy the book on it's own. In fact I know of at least 3 friends that are reading 'Full Circle' that haven't read any previous Voyager books and they've not had any problems. So you can probably just dive right in. Having read 'Before Dishonor' & 'Destiny' will surely help you along the way as parts of 'Full Circle' deal with those storylines.

That said, there were 4 post 'Endgame' Voyager Relaunch books:

Homecoming by Christie Golden
The Farther Shore by Christie Golden
Spirit Walk, Book One: Old Wounds by Christie Golden
Spirit Walk, Book Two: Enemy of My Enemy by Christie Golden

I'm betting if you looked those up on Memory Beta or just Wikipedia in general there would be some info on those. I read the first 2 which related to the crew making it home (picking up right where Endgame left off) and dealing with a Borg threat. They were ok. I couldn't get into the 3rd book though, and I've heard similar complaints from other fans - though I'm sure there must be fans that love them.

Tuvok has been appearing in the Titan series.
Other Voyager crewmembers have had cameos and such in other books.

But like I said, I think you're probably all set to go. If not, maybe someone else here can fill you in. Hope this helped a little bit at least.

Full Circle starts where Spirit Walk book 2 leaves off. According to the author, Kirsten Beyer, you don't need to read the previous 4 novels to understand FC, as she included info on what happened. Now with this being said, if you are a Voyager fan and are getting back into trek-lit, you should read them.

I can see not jumping in with both feet if you're starting the DS9 relaunch as there are like 18 books at this point that take place post-WYLB (it is amazing though and is definitely worth reading!), but the Voyager relaunch only consists of 5 books over the last 6-7 years. Why deny yourself a first hand account of all that's happened as opposed to a "previously on...". There are some vocal detractors on this board who think the Voy-Relaunch isn't very good, but I think the books are worth your time. All 4 of the older novels (Homecoming, The Farther Shore, Spirit Walk, Book One: Old Wound, Book Two: Enemy of My Enemy) are relatively short (compared to FC) and decent reads.

The first bullet points of the first two books that come to my head after having not read them for several years:

Spoiler: Homecoming/Distant Shore

• Everyone, even Harry, is finally promoted!
• 7of9 is living with her aunt, and is starting to go by Annika. In the first two books she may or may not be an academy instructor.
• Icheb goes to the academy. He gets assaulted when a Borg threat occurs, and I'm not sure if he stayed.
• The 7/Chakotay romance ends in, like, the first 2 pages. Chakotay isn't crushed. The credibility of Endgame sinks farther still.
• Harry's girlfriend is a badass secret agent.
• Janeway and Marc's new wife are totally BFFs.
• The Borg have a subroutine that allows any female to enter the collective and become queen in the absence of one. They also have a crazy nanoprobe virus that infects people virally.
• The Doctor is neglected by academia, but loved by hologram rights activists.
• Holograms will NOT take it anymore!
• Chakotay and Janeway were meant for each other.
• Tuvok works at the academy before going to the Titan.
• Tom Paris is a single father when Torres runs off to find her mother, which for some reason involves getting naked and smearing herself with feces.
• Something about Chakotay's sister.
• Starfleet is suspect of Voyager's crew, but they totally save the Earth anyway.
• Voyager's mission will continue, with Chakotay in command and Tom Paris as first officer.
• Janeway heads off to do whatever it is admirals do, as per Nemesis.
