Voyager Crew

Shane Houston

Commander
Red Shirt
Do we have an idea how many of Voyager's crew under Captain Janeway remained after Chakotay took command of the ship? Or how many returned when Captain Eden took Voyager back to the Delta Quadrant? I know that Janeway and Tuvok are gone. But out of the 150 or so how many are left?

Several appear to be. I don't know if an exact number was given but I got the impression that many of the original crew are on the mission, if not on Voyager itself.

Do we know about any specifically, though? The only one that immediately comes to mind is Mr. Vorik, who we know is now on the Hawking.

Well, on the show itself, there weren't many consistent minor characters to begin with. But yeah, aside from all of the other regulars besides Neelix (and even he shows up from time to time), I got the impression that a lot of the old crew was supposed to still be around.

I've been trying to run through as many of the VOY crew that we saw over the course of the series, and aside from Vorik, I can't recall a single one being mentioned as heading back to the Delta Quadrant. Samantha Wildman presumably stayed close to home at least until Naomi goes off to the Academy, I can't place any specific mention of Tal Celes or Mr. Chell or the Delaney sisters.

I don't know which that says more about: Me, not being able to remember any specific characters, or the show, for not naming any.

In later seasons, perhaps, but in early seasons they did a pretty good job of establishing recurring background characters like Hogan and Ayala and having them show up in multiple episodes. Or repeatedly refer to characters we didn't see, like the Delaney sisters (who did eventually get an on-camera role). Although in cases like Hogan's or Seska's, they'd spend a few weeks establishing a character as a recurring background presence and then have something happen to them (Seska turning out to be a spy, Hogan dying, etc.). Ayala managed to make it through the entire series, however.

Kirsten "M-Fing" Beyer needs to mention the Delaney sisters in a book.

Maybe have Tom and Harry discussing all the woman from the first cruise that Harry crushed on. That would involve dropping names of at least a quarter of the crew I would think.

FWIW (and conflicting with the post-Nemesis novels in many respects), in the Elite Force II videogame, Chell was transferred to the Enterprise-E along with the rest of the Voyager Hazard Team.

I wouldn't be against that. Especially if they could find a way to work the characters into the Novelverse and then kept them around as recurring characters.

...the Delaney sisters...

Shouldn't it be "the Delany sisters"? They were named as an homage to Samuel R. Delany's centenarian aunts, Sarah and Elizabeth, who wrote a popular book in the early '90's called Having Our Say.

And their first names are Megan and Jenny. And I've never heard anything about them being named for anyone in particular.
