Voyager- A Landing Starship

I'd say they're part of a sensor mechanism so that they can analyse the surface that the ship will be landing on.

So they get to about 10 meters above a surface before determining its unsafe to land?! That sounds like a bad idea...

Hm. Not as entertaining as the thread about paying $14 to enter the US, but please, keep trying. :)

Oh, and I also vote for the Voyager-Spider pic.

Voyager landed on (at the time) safe ground, didn't they? The silver blood pooled up underneath them after they had landed.

^^If $14 is too much for them to afford, then they really need to stay home. Just wait till they find out how much a tank of gas is.

In Australia we make you pay to LEAVE the country.

""Departure Tax
An international departure tax of $38 is payable for every person over the age of twelve. This tax can be paid at the airport, and must be paid in order to leave the country. Some travel agents will include this tax in the cost of the ticket, so check with your travel agent.

Now this is cunning.

Are they that desperate? :)

I'd move to Australia willingly.

I'd prefer to be there than here in the States half of the time.

Only two downsides from my standpoint

1. Spiders

2. I don't know if my husband's degrees would be viable down there. Hmmm

A huntsman spider in my shower.

btw these same spiders are also common in Hawaii where they are known as cane spiders. They do not bite unless you grab them, roll on them etc.. and the bite causes swelling and some pain, but is no worse than a wasp sting.

I think I read somewhere once that smaller spiders are generally more poisonous than larger ones, but it's quite possible I was mistaken.

Either way...(shudder)
