Emanations currently winning in the Voy Least Liked Episode - Season One thread.

So now onto season two.

Firstly, I really like this season. There are some truly great episodes to be found here and it's the only season that played with ongoing, serialised storytelling (the Seska arc) which I wish we'd seen more of in the show. I suspect we may see a few votes for Threshold though personally, I don't have a major problem with it and view it as nothing more than dumb, campy fun.

I'm not a huge fan of Resistance and find it quite boring. I like the premise but it just doesn't grab me. I also really didn't care for Non Sequitur (Kim heavy) and found the story to be moronic. But, that being said, I think the episode I liked least is probably... Tattoo. I liked Chakotay in the early seasons but this one was poor.

On the first two or three viewings, I hated The Thaw but have grown to love that one now.

Honourable mention for best season two episode: Deadlock.

This one is tough. There isn't much I like about this season.

Threshold is bad but I pretend Tom had a weird dream.

I liked the Seska/Tom goes off the rails/Jonas arc.

Hated Thaw. I know a lot of people like it and know what the writers were trying to do but but it does nothing for me. As I have said before if it had been a true representation of Kim's actual fears I might have liked it better. That stupid clown...just don't want to get into again. Bleah.

I think with Non Sequitur they were trying to do a sort of mirror to DS9's Whispers where this time the person KNEW he was out of place. Good idea but it fell way short.

I suppose given my ethnic background I should be offended by Tattoo but I'm not simply because I'm so used to 'fake' Native American representations that I have become immune to them.

Most of the rest I find boring rather than out and out bad. I just can't seem to garner a lot of enthusiasm for any of them although Deadlocked was ok.

I'm going with Elogium. I'm just not interested in the Neelix/Kes soap opera (although I don't mind the characters individually)

I love every episode in this season. I go for Initiations because if I absolutely have to choose an episode, then that little Kazon boy was a bit too much for me. I really couldn't say whether it was the character or Aron Eisenberg but he was a little annoying.
Then again, on the whole I like that episode, too.
Deadlock was my favourite one in Season 2, closely followed by Death Wish.
In contrast to the majority of the people I find Threshold interesting.
I guess Tattoo, The Thaw and Tuvix are also hated by a lot of people. They are all excellent episodes in my book.
I liked the story arc with Michael Jonas. However, I wish it had been done more like a crime story and we had only found out who the spy was at the end of that story arc instead of knowing it right from the beginning.

hux, I understand your disappointment completely. However, I hope you'll continue doing these polls in spite of the fact that only (relatively) few people are participating.

Very difficult, but finally I had to go with Twisted. Yes, my friends, actually a Kes episode. There were a few interesting moments scattered throughout, Tuvok wordlessly expressing care and concern for his friend, Neelix's jealousy growing by leaps and bounding into the ridiculous realm when questioning Kes being familiar with where crew's quaters were located (eidetic memory remember?), seeing Lt. Baxter, B'Elanna's indignant desperation, Chakotay's hilarious expression when stuck with Neelix on their walkabout, and that beautiful necklace/keepsake. I actually rather enjoy watching the episode, but essentially, nothing happens. The existential threat is not even a threat at all, no one gets hurt, and maybe some intelligence was trying to communicating to them, something like "dog eat dog", IIRC, certainly one of Janeway's more creative bits of dialogue during the series, I guess. Oh and bridge personnel, at least got some of that luscious cake after their "ordeal". I wonder if Neelix ever shared the recipe on Briefing with Neelix/Good Morning Vietnam, er, Voyager?

While Threshold always holds promise for this prize, I don't think I can bring myself to ever fully downgrade an episode where a guy pulls his tongue out. Sorry, can't do it!!!!!

I voted for The Thaw, but I completely forgot about Threshold. So I used the "Change your Vote" button, for whatever it's worth.

It has to be "Threshold", even if I think that episode is funny, at least if you consider that the events in this episode never happened but was a nightmare Tom Paris had after eating too much of Neelix's food.

My list over favorite episodes will be a bit odd since I do consider "Projections", "Elogium", "Twisted", and "The 37's" as season 1 episodes. But here it is:

1. Cold Fire, 5 points
2. Persistence Of Vision, 5 points
3. Basics #1, 5 points
(4. Projections), 5 points
4. Alliances, 5 points
5. Meld, 5 points
6. Tuvix, 5 points
7. Investigations, 4 points
8. The Thaw, 4 points
9. Resistance, 4 points
(10. Twisted), 4 points
10. Parturition, 4 points
11. Innocence, 4 points
12. Initiations, 3 points
13. Maneuvers, 3 points
(13. The 37's), 3 points
14. Resolutions, 3 points
15. Prototype, 3 points
16. Tattoo, 3 points
17. Lifesigns, 3 points
18. Non Sequitur, 3 points
19. Death Wish, 3 points
20. Dreadnought, 2 points
21. Deadlock, 2 points
(21. Elogium), 1 point
22. Threshold, 1 point

But I must once again state that season 2 is the best Voyager season ever and also the best of all Star Trek seasons. So many good episodes! :techman:

You don't like Deadlock? But... but... Harry dies in it. What's not to like?
I actually like "Deadlock".
But season 2 is so full of good episodes which I find better!
As for Harry, I have nothing against him and don't want to see him killed off.

Maybe I rise the rating to 3 due to the two Keses!

As for my ratings, they are the same as on the Kes Website:

5 Excellent
4 Very good
3 Good
2 Average
1 Bad
0 Lousy (the script should have been thrown in a trashcan)

and maybe some intelligence was trying to communicating to them, something like "dog eat dog", IIRC, certainly one of Janeway's more creative bits of dialogue during the series, I guess.

Well, I kind of dropped the ball, again!!!! There was no maybe about it, as I totally forgot that the intelligence dropped a shitload of information on Voyager, some of which was undoubtedly useful as the journey continued. Despite the growing evidence of neurological problems, I will stay with this choice, because, I simply want to and it was hard enough to come up with in the first place.

"Twisted" (boring and too arbitrary) and even "Threshold" had some interesting moments, both were pretty much hurt the most by the endings. I think the worst was "Parturition," really aggravating writing and acting of the interpersonal conflict, crummy plot and worse resolutions.

I voted Elogium because it was awkward and gross. it wasn't an easy call because there was some good dialog about whether or not the crew should shack up. But kes' gross throwing herself about and tongue swelling and hand suction cups...too alien for me to deal with.

This.

Hard to decide since a lot those episodes are equally worthless, but I tend to favor the ones that comes off as a very bad TNG episode. So by default it's DEATHWISH. I mean this was after I saw Q in one of the best episode in his appearance "All Good Things...", and he's reverted back to something I tend not to see him as... Star Trek's The Great Gazoo. It's annoying and Voyager kept doing that sh*t.

Who would have thought that (currently) ELOGIUM is winning? I was pretty sure most people would vote for THRESHOLD ... and look at the results so far ...

You have to consider that I've changed my vote in favor of Threshold. But Elogium was never an option, though.

That's the main reason why I'm not to fond of "Elogium".

They totally mess up the Ocampa. When I watched that episode the first time, I actually wondered if they were on something when they came up with that episode.

I quite like the fact that they at least made her very alien in that respect. Too many aliens are tediously human.

Hopefully, the new series will have an alien who shits out the back of his knees or has two conscious minds within one body or something.
