This was hard, but I finally went with Vis A Vis, because I absolutely do not recall the episode right now and the title is of no help.

But for me Season 4 is Voyager's last great season, and the best of the Seven Of Nine years, and seems to end Voyager series 1.
Vis a vis: An alien takes possession of Tom's body ... Then it turns out that it was not the first time the alien had done this to someone. Tom also ends up in the alien's body.
This is the episode in which Tom keeps repairing the car and we can see him in his petrol station attendant outfit.
I guess it is one of the weaker Tom-centred episodes. Still, not a bad ep, and I still think RETROSPECT made a lot less sense.

I enjoyed most of season 4 but there were only a few that I disliked.

I voted for: Nemesis

Others: Retrospect, Vis a vis, Unforgettable.

I'm not a fan of body swapping or mind swapping stories because it's so easy for plot holes to go unnoticed. The writer has to be very careful. That and Tom's weird mid-life crisis.

I chose to believe, as others have, that Tom had up to that point lived a lifetime of strict control starting with his overbearing father to the Academy to Starfleet to prison...and then he was back in Starfleet living under rules and regulations again. Eventually, something had to give and he needed some breathing room but didn't recognize what was wrong (like a 'normal' adult might) so he took it out on everyone around him.

"The Gift"
A badly written story, full of holes with an
unrealistic storyline made only to get rid of Kes as soon as possible. The guy who wrote it probably wrote it on the toilet after Berman, Braga and Taylor gave him the order to write it.
Just had a niggle you might vote for that one Lynx haha

Never :o not like you express your undying love for Kes everywhere haha! Your positivity about her is infectious i have really started to like her on my rewatch of the show xD

That really made my day!
Thanks!

I really liked season 4. Year of hell was awesome. But I have to say, "Day of Honor" was insufferable. I love klingons, it's just when they get into all that jazz about honor for an entire episode it just puts me to sleep.

You know I think I should have a little button I can press to call you when I need an epsiode name haha! You know everyone xD And yes great Kes epsiode that and Warlord are my two favorites
Thanks. Believe it or not there are a lot of things I still don't know. Like a character's name who shows up in one episode only. Those ones are really difficult to keep track of. And I'm certainly not good at the technological side of the show because that is mostly uninteresting to me. Like what is on which deck and if the bioneural gelpacks break down, then how is it possible that technobabble still works? I can't answer such questions but mainly because I'm not interested in them.

Can't believe people picked Nemisis! That's like in my top ten all time Voyager episodes! You're all completely mad ;-)

But, I say retrospect. It is a fine premise to view memory as the subjective thing it is (though one which I feel like Star Trek has dealt with elsewhere) but it loses the thread for me and it feels like it can't decide what point it is trying to make.

I really like "Nemesis". My favorite among the season 4-7 episodes.

So good that it would be among my top 20 favorites.

First of all, it's a great Chakotay episode. "Tattoo" should have been made this way instead of the silly "Sky Spirits" thing.

Second, I really love the twist in the tale in tis episode!

Mortal Coil... let me see... why IMO is it the worst of season 4?
* Too dark for VOY, too dark even for DS9
* Mulgrew almost goes out of character at the beginning of the episode in the corridor when talking to Neelix. In fact, several actors seemed off (This is all before the accident)
* That one seen where Neelix is looking for the cylinder and calling out to it saying, "Oh cylinder..." argh! One of his most annoying moments.
* The first kid (other than the baby) who plays Naomi Wildman is really bleh

These are not quibbles with the general premise of someone dying, being reanimated, having doubts, etc. but there were a lot of flaws in its execution, in terms of production and directing and such.

It also really seems like something from another sci-fi show, in its mood and all, the music, the lighting, etc. Something too heavy for Voyager. This premise isn't a good fit for the show besides, since it was primetime tv. Would have worked better on a cable show like the Outer Limits.

I find it interesting that it came from a draft script where Samantha Wildman died, was reanimated with nanoprobes, and turned into some kind of 'zombie mom' that went nuts and tried to kill Naomi so she could be reanimated and they could be zombies together. When you start out with something like that for a Voyager episode, perhaps it's best to scrap the idea altogether.

Waking moments, not that it was bad, but I really loved this entire season and that is my least favorite. Like answering the question - which do you like least, ice cream, pizza or cake ;)

I'm still making my way through this season (still have yet to watch One and Hope and Fear) but I went for Nemesis, a horribly acted story with lame tropes. I considered voting Unforgettable but it almost seemed unfair; that was just pure filler, Nemesis flat out failed.

Overall though I've enjoyed season 4, by far the best of the seasons I've seen. Hopefully it's uphill from here too.

I really like "Nemesis" and I have a fascination for the Vori language.

If the situation in Europe become too impossible to live in (with all the terror things going on), I consider moving to the US or Canada, buy a piece of land and create a small state, colony or county in which the Vori language will be the main language! :techman:

I can fathom and glimpse the fullness and brightness of the soon-after and that will be the Vori state!
