You heard it right, kids. I'm ready to dig into some strange, new worlds. You get to pick what book series I read next.

Go ahead and vote.

I haven't read any of them myself but I have been looking to get into The Dark Tower. I really liked the Dresden Files TV series, for what that's worth.

I've read a couple of those, and Vorkosigan and Dark Tower were my first two choices, so I'm glad to see they're both in the lead. :)

I've started a couple of others - the Culture series and the Mars trilogy - but neither really grabbed me.

If you haven't read them yet, I'd also nominate Asimov's Robot/Foundation novels as essential SF reading.

I read the first book in that Bujold series as part of a book club I'm in, and it was dreadfully bad. I can write better than she can, and I can't write. It was like really bad fanfic, but it can't be fanfic since it's her own series. Not much of a plot, just random crap thrown in to try to fill out the page count.

I'd suggest Jim Butcher. Not only can he write, he's a very nice guy too.
