That pic is still hilarious, apenpaap, regardless of who made it. Your posting of it amuses me. And just to be clear, I don't exactly love the Star Trek XI Enterprise; it's just the only 'original' Ent I like at all beyond "it's okay" (which is the refit). I think the B, D, and E are all immeasurably better than any incarnation of the original with the E by far being my favorite.

From this thread about 55% prefer the Refit design overall, with 30% for the Original, and 15% for NuE .
In my mind, this makes the NuE pretty acceptable, if not universally well-loved. And It also shows (and this is just what I'M getting from this) that most folk here grew up with the refit design, hence all the love.

That is one terrific picture! Very, very cool.
I do want to mention something about the 2009 Enterprise. It has the orginal's basic structure, just amped up and made to look more powerful. That seemed to be a theme throughout the film. We were back at the beginning, but the elements were changed to give them extra power. I mean, look at the Enterprise shooting at the Narada! Phaser fire came out of every window, nacelle and cranny! They were wise not to overdo that since we'll have plenty of chances to see it in the next movies.
Hmmm... I saw it as more bloated. With either chicken drumsticks or cleaned up Doomsday Machines stuck on the warp engine pylons. But that's just me.
As much i like Enterprise Refit and i don't dislike Original or NuTrek Enterprises. My biggest beef with these ships designs is why the neck has to be so thin and why saucer and engineering hull need to be so apart.

I voted for the NuE design. It looks like the muscle car version of TOS-E. What can I say? I'm a muscle car kinda guy...

You must be kiding, out of all the ships named this one and the B have their impulse engines aimed at the nacelles/nacelle pylons so in that respect they don't make any sense at all.
