Voltron - New cartoon coming to Nicktoons Fall '11??!!!

I had heard about The Thundercats getting a new anime inspired toon. Now while reading about a new Voltron video game this little nugget was in there as well.
New Voltron cartoon.
The games are anticipated to debut this fall, ahead of the premiere of the all-new 2D/CGI animated Voltron Force series set to launch on Nicktoons in the U.S., and with other key broadcasters worldwide in 2011.

With Transformers Prime on the Hub, Thundercats and Voltron forthcoming on Nicktoons is a He-Man relaunch coming as well? It's been 7-8yrs since that franchise last rebooted.

Welcome back '80's you were missed!! :)

Anyone rememeber Force Five? i you use to like that to when i was a kid.

There was already a pretty faithful CG Voltron remake 10 or so years ago. Not sure what the point of making another one would be.

^^^
Maybe cause it's been 10 years?

I mean Hollywood is remaking The Millinium Trilogy already and that's inside what, 5years. They remade Let the Right One In in something like 3years. Oh and Spiderman is getting rebooted. Frankly in Hollywood terms 10 years is ages ago.

A pic tweeted on 4/19 of the team mixing Voltron audio while the animation plays.

It's the best first look I've gotten of Voltron himself.
Looks pretty good, can't wait!!

I'm a complete aberration.

I love the Vehicle Team Voltron the best.

For that reason, I'm not as excited about this as I ought to be.

I'm much more excited about the Thundercats reboot, and I was NEVER a big Thundercats guy anyway.

Well over at the Voltron site I visit the Producer of the show has a running thread. Literally on post 4 the question of Vehicle Voltron came up. He was coy but here is an answer, it sounds slanted on the positive.

I'm guessing if the show has success then more from Voltron lore will be explored. Except Gladitor Voltron II, aka Albegas. Apparently the rights never got locked down and aren't part of their license. At least as of now he says.

They've been working on this for awhile (IIRC, it was first announced about a year ago). I think it was originally going to be called "Voltron: Panthera Force" (or something like that).

I'm kind of looking forward to this show I like that the mechanical designs for the lions are closer to the originals as opposed to some stupid Bayformers inspired thing. I wonder what the toys are going to be like I hope they cater to the child and adult collector markets.

i'm looking forward to the toys more than the show. as a kid i loved Voltron. i bought the first dvd set a few years ago and barley sat through the first three episodes.

At least Vehicle Voltron could shuffle a deck of cards if he had to. What could Lion Voltron do with those mouth-hands, anyway?

As the June start for Voltron Force approaches they are slowly releasing more images.

Today's image, based on their FB page feedback comments, didn't sit too good.

So this new image of the team in the traditional communications sequence shows her with green eyes not blue.

Now before anyone says, "What's the big deal?"
Recall this is sci-fi/fantasy/comics, we discuss all the time if Lois Lane has to be brunette, if MJ has to have red hair and other such seemingly trivial matters.

Voltron also seems to gain new hands.
