I'd rather see something like the Beyond uniforms. The '09s are too baggy.
I can agree to this. I thought they were perfect in ST09, then they looked badly off in Into Darkness especially Kirk's. I do like the Beyond uniforms too.

Umm, No the Cage did not use the same pallet. They did use three colors as does DSC. I really hope they do not go such wild and full on color, I was never a fan.
Sadly, Discovery's uniforms are one of the things that bug me. I don't like that the jacket and pants are the same color. It's like the TMP uniforms. I like the cut and tailoring but the colors I don't like. I prefer the colored top with black pants look.
Can not say I agree. I would not mind some color, but I never want to see that kinda solid color saturation again.
Well my Discovery uniform edit was just an example. If the colors were muted and less saturated I'd be fine with that too. I'd just like more color besides dark blue with gold, silver and bronz detailing on the sides and shoulders. My OCD is a stick in the mud like that.

I don't want the main uniform to be the color personally. I liked how DS9, ENT and TwoK uniforms handled it. I would loved to see some blue or black uniforms with patches of color.
This I'd be okay with too. The early DS9/Voyager uniforms are my favorite 24th century era uniforms.
Not sure what it is, but too much of those colors just looks goofy, but oddly I loved the Monster Maroons.I really enjoyed many of the secondary uniforms from the Reboots, some of those were killer.

I agree that a lot of the Kelvin universe secondary uniforms are great additions that Starfleet really needed.
You might enjoy it. To me it was a no go when they tried to explain why the Crew of the Enterprise had goofy 1960 gear and the Discovery crew did not. There was zero need to do that.

I think TOS had the best use of the colors, They weren't as saturated as what came later. TNG was okay with colors but I wasn't a fan of the uniforms themselves. I like the monster maroons but they aren't my favorites. My favorite uniforms are the Reboot and Beyond uniforms. Though some of the colors on them were off. I think I may give them a bit of an edit just for fun. I'll post the results shortly.

No, it made little sense. Wow, they they issues old uniforms the from the 1960s and mini skirts for the women folk. And made everything look less advanced! This was needless fan wank and little else.
It need not be that blue, which I agree is off. But a nice Navy, grey or black would be nice. I do agree, Trek needs more than a single uniform. we always see what amounts to Class A's wore all the time. Recall in TNG folks digging in the ground and such all wearing that same damned uniform?
I am gonna disagree on color saturation of TOS, because Good Gods. I am not sure many folks liked the TNG uniforms, they were ok, more muted than TOS, but not really a good design. While I do not like the silly TOS style uniforms from the Reboots, I love the secondary stuff.
I read the book, there is hardy any descriptions of the Enterprise herself.
The only point I can think of that happening is
When the Enterprise's weapons are described as more powerful, which makes sense, the Shenzhou is an old ship
Oh, so the Enterprise does not look 1960, just the outdated uniforms, no one else in starfleet uses?
Yes. The books are allowed to do this.
