Violent Protests in Baltimore

Is the violence by Baltimore Protestors Justified?

I live in Tampa and we don't have those sort of problems.

Statistics from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office show that whites are consistently arrested more than African-Americans in Hillsborough County, yet they go to prison far less percentagewise.

It was literally the second link on Google. Try harder.

Maybe it would have been beneficial to have the autopsy results before deciding what charges to file. Cannot be sure how this really changes anything...

Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby is seeking a protective order to block the release of Freddie Gray's autopsy report and other "sensitive" documents related to the investigation of six Baltimore police officers allegedly responsible for Gray's death.
An attorney for one of the officers says the move shows there's "something in that autopsy report" she's "trying to hide," according to the Baltimore Sun.

Good for her.

Frankly I don't think any of this stuff should be released until a jury has been selected and a trial has started. The media and the public can wait until a trial has properly began before picking apart all the evidence.

Good for her? Maybe. Maybe not. Just being hypothetical, what if Freddie Gray died of a drug overdose and the break to his spine occured in the back of the truck after he was already dead? Mosby would be screwed. She should have at least waited for the autopsy results before filing charges. It just would have been the sensible thing to do.

Suppose the autopsy shows a manner of death inconsistent with her charges. She has the duty to reveal that immediately.

I assume the autopsy reports are shared with defense counsel, and this is just about whether they should be made public, right?

The first step in eliminating riots is to eliminate the people and the practices that unfairly target others.

According to the DOJ report, the Ferguson riots were caused by the courts and the police by unfairly targeting them in order to raise revenue.

One possible way is to have people go through the blue eyes brown eyes program.

Fonzob, you have received an infraction, filed under OTHER, for repeated abuse of the notification system after being told to stop on multiple occasions. Comments to PM.

And no, his reference to the Blue Eyes / Brown Eyes program was not a call for Nazi-style elimination of the protestors or anyone else. How about instead of wrongly clicking on the notify button all the time you click on Google Search instead for a change? Captrek, this isn't a reference to your joke, in case there's any confusion. Fonzob took Starborn Dragon's post in completely the opposite way it was intended.

I would be fine with keeping this thread open normally to discuss related issues even though the protests are over, but fonzob is apparently incapable of handling things without (ironically) protesting a prior warning through repeated bogus notifications against others in this thread, so it's getting shut down. If someone else would like to continue the discussion, feel free to start your own thread.
