Are any of the other enhanced soldiers they show characters from the comics?

Just watched it.

A couple of nice ideas, but the new Iron Man it isn't. I liked the actress who played the role of KT, but unfortunately she hadn't the best material at her disposal.

The biggest problem of the film is I really didn't care about the characters. Marvel movies know that you have to invest in them, otherwise all those elaborate action pieces are little more than videogame cinematics.

Used to be a big fan of Diesel (and Dwayne Johnson too) but his movies kinda became bland summer blockbuster fare of which there are a dozens and they kind of blur together.

I was a huge fan of the Fast and Furious movies but after they started to have tanks jumping over highways and supersoldiers i lost interested (last really good one for me was FF5, the one in Brazil).

Started to watch Bloodshot but was never truly engaged and barely made it past 10 minutes when i stopped.

It don't get better.

Bloodshot was the second movie that I watched yesterday. Before that I had watched She Never Died which I suppose it had a fraction of the budget of the other movie, still I really cared about the characters. I googled about the Bloodshot's director and guess what? it was his first movie (before that he had worked in videogames) and it shows.

Guys, if you want to start-up the next Big Cinematic Universe, hire people with a little more experience.

I had a free pass to see this one in the cinema. I didn't go. Even for free, I just couldn't be bothered. Hard pass on the free pass. ;)

You know, there are a couple of inventive shots, but they are well hidden in a sea of mediocrity.

Ah, and they used both of them in the trailer, so if you watched it you saw the best of the movie ;)

Valiant actually made a new movie deal with one of the other studios after Bloodshot was done, so I have a feeling this might end up not being part of their cinematic universe.

So, this is their Green Lantern..?

Probably. I haven't seen anything that specifically says it won't be part of a shared universe, but since any future Valiant movies will be from a different studio.
I just double checked on Wikipedia and there is a movie based on the character Faith Herbert in the works, also from Sony, who released Bloodshot, and it's the third Valiant movie, Harbinger, which is coming from a different studio, Paramount. So I'm not entirely sure how all of this will end up working out in the end.

I'm sure what is their long-range plane. Their characters have no the name recognition of their DC or Marvel counterparts between the general public (eck, I would doubt that the majority of comics could name three Valiant characters) so they should totally focus on quality, but if Bloodshot is an example, Well, I don't believe that the Other Two should worry...

And while I like the concept of Faith as a comic, I don't know how well it will translate on screen. Audience can accept plus-sized protagonists only in comic roles. In a packed superhero movie I doubt. If they made a faithful adaptation they would have all my admiration, but I doubt that this will be the case. I mean, people made a fuss for Carrie Fisher in the last Star Wars movies and I found her perfectly ok!

Yeah, sadly I can see things getting really ugly when it comes to Faith. Just to be clear this is a reference to the number of assholes out there who are going to be nasty about her size, not a reference to the character.
My only experience with Valiant so far is the first collected edition of the first Archer & Armstron series, but I've read quite a bit about the characters, and I do question if Bloodshot was the best one to start with. Honestly, Bloodshot is probably the Valiant character I am least interested in. If it were me I would have started with either Archer & Armstrong, or Harbinger, since those two set up a lot more of the wider universe. Honestly, if they did A&A, I probably would have been in the theater opening day, but I never even bothered seeing Bloodshot in theaters.

Well, more than in the idea I have faith in the execution. Honestly, very few people were interested in Iron Man as character, still it is one of the most successful superhero movie out here. There isn't nothing inherently wrong in the Bloodshot concept (I never read the comics). The problem is that they made an incredible mediocre movie. While I know that no one do a bad movie on purpose, still I wonder how possibile this is the best that managed to do.
