Speaking of Lagertha, I guess we will get some insight into how she got scarred up like that next episode. Ubba's fight looks dramatic, too. There are some pics from the episode over here but VERY spoiler heavy pics. That's an excellent analysis and reflects why Floki has always been my favorite character along with Lagertha and Athelstan.
Valhalla, dude!Ragnar is smiling down from
D'oh! I knew that wasn't right but my brain refused to work.Valhalla, dude!
I don't think that's the end for Floki. I am curious what happens next, we did see how a number of characters faced death. Ubbe called out to Odin much like Ragnar in early s1. Magnus called out to Jesus, I hope he buys the farm next episode. Floki called out to Helga if you listen closely just before the cut away. I was surprised they did away with Judith so quickly.Poor Floki. He searched for the gods and believed he heard dwarves were banging on their anvils, but all he found was...that the Christians beat him to Iceland. And then the volcano erupted. I fear this is the end for Floki and we didn't even get a conversation with Athelstan.
Another terrific episode and it feels like Vikings is finding it's old footing. Ubbe has finally realized his father's dreams and has established a proper colony in Wessex. Lagertha's quiet whispers to Ragnar as she held the soils of his dreams brought a tear to my eye. Ragnar is smiling down from Asgard.
Bjorn and Hvitserk have finally rejoined forces to take on Ivar, while Harald fumes in the background. Someone is going to die very soon...
Yeah, I expect an asspull on that. There was outside light coming in from some fissure. That might collapse into a wider opening and he can get out with a St Paul like conversion going on as a result. I'd rather have some Athelstan meeting in the darkness but I am going to guess he gets out with a new faith.Ah, I missed him calling out "Helga." You have better ears than I!
Considering next week is the season finale, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Floki's swan song. I mean, he's buried inside a volcano that's erupting (actual eruption or just tremors, either way is bad), he didn't leave any markers to make his way back (which has been caved in at the entrance), and he looked badly injured. Unless the show decides to fully embrace the supernatural, I really don't see how he'll be able to make it out alive.
