VIDIIANS ASSIMILATED BY THE BORG?...

I wonder if the Vidiians were ever assimilated. The Borg at least encountered the Kazon, so I suspect they encountered them, as well.

Their medical technology was superior, but their bodies, because of the Phage, might make them unappealing as a race for potential assimilation.

On the flip side, when Kurros and his think tank cured them of the Phage, could this have put a bulls-eye on the Vidiians?

Thoughts, everyone?

Interesting questions.

It would have been interesting to have discovered that the Vidiians themselves had originally infected themselves with the Phage to make themselves unappetizing to the Collective millennia ago.

Well, they were almost magical in some episodes, so probably.

Another question: do the Borg ever just assimilate a cultures tech and not the people themselves? Or would they just destroy the people if they found them unworthy of assimilation?

I don't know.... being a sick Vidiian - forced to kill others to survive for the rest of your plague-ridden life- seems almost (or perhaps completely) as bad as becoming a Borg drone.

Perhaps if it was something initially engineered to look more horrible than it actually was, and to be kept under control, but then completely got out of hand by some unexpected mutation or other accident?
