Video of My Turtle and tortoise

I had a turtle when I was a child but it is now illegal to keep them as pets in Tasmania.

I also had an axoylotl when I was a child but they are also now illegal in Tasmania.

Now I have three cats - Miss Chicken, Spider and Georgy

My son has three goldfish - Jose, Frederico and Fernando

Yes, they have very strict laws in TAsmania and Australia. Lucky, I don't live there. :)

Awesome. Your tortoise looks like our small Russian tortoise, that my wife named Ducky. :)

We used to have a large African Spurred Tortoise, but we lost him last year, about this time. I really want to get another one... but it won't be the same. :)

We also have a bearded dragon, a veiled chameleon, a blue tongued skink, and 3 small box turtles. My wife is really in to the reptiles. :)

So, based on the evidence given, how is the legislation going to outlaw cats and fish as pets?

Many species of fish are banned in Tasmania. It is now illegal to import goldfish into Tasmania but one can sell and breed goldfish from the disease free stock already in the state.

Cats aren't banned because cats are not responsible for any species becoming extinct in Tasmania despite the fact that their have been cats here for 200 years.

Cats have been eradicated from Macquarie island which is technically part of Tasmania ( it is hundreds of miles fom Tasmania). When the cats were eradicated the poluation of rabbits swellEd and island was denuded which caused landslides that buried bird rockeries. According to some scientists landslides killed more birds that cats did though other scientist disagree that the landslides were a result of the cats being eradicated. . However now the rabbit population is under control.

We started out with three, then got another one; sadly, one died a few months ago, so now we're down to three again.
