AICN is reporting that a video game will be out later this years as a tie in to the new movie.

The combat and visuals remind me of Mass Effect. It looks like the game even has a cover system.
Ever since playing the first Mass Effect I have wanted them to make a Star Trek game with a similar style. Being able to walk around key areas of the ship, talk to the crew, fly to different planets, ect...
I suspect this game wont be that in depth, but I can dream.

It looks like Kirk and Spock Die Harding their way around a crippled Enterprise.
I wonder if the story will be novelized? TBH, I expect the game itself will suck (would love to be proven wrong, tho!), and if it does have a good story, it'd be a shame for it to be wasted.

While my feelings on nuTrek are mixed to say the least, it's good to see Star Trek getting a big, full on game again. I'd feared that we'd be stuck with crappy games like 'D.A.C' and STO for the foreseeable future after the Activision licensing mess. Hopefully this'll not only be well made, but resurrect Trek gaming as something worth investing more than the bare minimum to make.
