For the record, Webster has nothing of race in its definition of "uppity":

And the word was used appropriately by Phantassm.

I have never heard the word "uppity" used in regards to any racial context. What in the world are you guys talking about?

The word has been used in racial contexts, but the word itself has no such connotation. It only becomes such when the word following it is racially oriented. In the Webster examples above, it is followed by the words "technicians" and "country". Substitute those words with the name of any race and you have a racial slur, referring to someone who doesn't know "their place".

I don't personally have anything against the word but in regards to how it was used earlier it could be taken offensively. That's all I am saying.

You said the Master was uppity, acting with an air of superiority. I don't see anything racial about that. It was someone else who suggested that you were making a remark about race.

No-I meant that the master was acting "stuck-up" in her treatment of Spock, like she was better than him since he did not achieve kohlinar, nothing more. If that came across as racist, it was not intended.

You didn't say anything racist. It's specifically the use of the word "uppity" in regards to black people that has racist connotations. Hence my encouraging Brutal Strudel to "not go there" when he jokingly referred to Tuvok (a Vulcan played by black actor) as "uppity."
