Venezuela Bans Family Guy

Man the way some Hollywood Liberal's embrace Hugo Chevez you think that someone like Seth McFarland would get his seal of approval.:guffaw:

Didn't they ban "South Park" too a few years back?

Anyway, I beat them to it -- I banned FG from my viewing a few months ago.

Hmm, this reminds me of the time the Brazilians banned Friends.

Cut to a family of Brazilians watching a blank TV. There's a long, long pause.

Brazilian father:
I wish we were still watching Friends.

Brazilian wife: "Its on a break."

This is really too bad. Now all of Venezuela will miss the upcoming episode with guest stars Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh. Oh, wait, maybe that's another reason for banning the show. :wtf:

Because the show "promotes marijuana." Priceless!

I would think they're a more socially conservative country than the US, so I don't blame their actions.

Actually, they're conservative socialists who think that certain Yanqui things are not good for young people; already Hugo Chavez has denounced American media for the unrealism of most of it's movies, as seen here: Hugo Chavez denounces US movies and culture while on visit to Vietnam

But, I think that he banned Family Guy because it's insulting to fathers (Peter Griffin and his antics) and treats it's female characters with disdain (Meg Griffin and the ways in which she's degraded in most episodes.) Also, I think that he wants to produce more local shows, and American ones are competition.
