Graywand, I sometimes get some choice responses to what I consider to be reasonable questions I post, so I sympathize. But Christopher has a point. The Fire Nation carrying out Pearl Harbor only stands if the US soldiers have comparable bending abilities, and if a land as vast and varied as the US existed in ATLA, which does not seem the case. Ordinary US Soldiers, on whom a lot of the Pacific Theater fell, would have been at a supreme disadvantage against super-powered soldiers who did not need any sort of conventional fuel or ammo. You have to add in so many extras that the question kind of falls apart from their weight.
A more coherent Avatar speculative question would be : What If Azula recovers enough of her mind to lead FN soldiers disaffected by the new peace on a rebellion? That and others like it are drawn from the world and events we saw in the series.
Again, I can recall a question I had about an odd quirk in my clock radio degenerating into my being mocked because it was an old model (good shape) with a cassette player, which I never use. Some of the responses here are just snide for no cause. But like SNL's classic 'What If Spartacus had a Piper Cub to fight the Romans with?', some questions may not take too well.

As to your question, I think that Azula escaping confinement is not only possible, but probable. Hell, that's the whole premise of the fanfic I was working on before I took a break to write this post. Considering what we know of Azula's tactical abilities, it would probably be a pretty damn successful rebellion.
