That's a nice time for a Batman story, though. Hopefully less competition than during the Summer months too.
You would think the resident MCU cheerleader would appreciate that, since the majority of the MCU is far removed from the source in terms of tone, capturing the heart of classic stories, etc.
I truly think that individuals are expecting a literal 1:1 replication of comic books in their films and that is just a recipe for disappointment.
It does happen but so rarely it would not be my guiding light. And yet a few times purists are not disappointed by an adaptation so it may be difficult, standards may be high, but not impossible.
I could see that happening if the rumors that it IS the Long Halloween are true. They should push it back another few weeks and call it The Long Halloween
I think the long halloween had more drawn from it with TDK. But it was one of many comics that inspired The Dark Knight Trilogy. It doesn't preclude it from it being used again in other movies. The rumor is that this movie will be a more full on version of that.Didn't Batman Begins already draw on "The Long Halloween" to some extent?
Before Batman Begins came out the Reaper was rumored to be the reaper (probably because his back story was similar to Ducard/Ras losing his wife. I'd love to see Year Two also. Old vigilante vs. New vigilante with different crime fighting philosophy.I wouldn't mind seeing a live action version of "Year 2" with Batman fighting the Reaper.

"The Dark Knight" had more comparison to "The Long Halloween" compared to "Batman Begins" Year One influence
I'm not sure Catwoman is really going to be a villain, these days she's presented as love interest for more often than a full on villain.Penguin and Catwoman are in it too. With that many villains someone will have to be the main but might be none of the regulars. I could see them as the pieces put on a chess board for later.

I'm a little confused by what exactly a box of cornflakes would have to do with making pasta.
