I like Robert and hope he does a good job.
He was great in Harry Potter.
I've never seen any of the Twilight movies so my opinion of him isn't swayed by those movies.

But of the two I think Nic Hoult was the better choice.
He's a little beefier and looks more American even if he is English.

Bloated from fast food would qualify as "American." I guess.

Truly a category worth celebrating.

Has this been talked about yet? THR interview with the director:

Batman... is written as around 30 years old, and the story is neither another rehashing of his origin nor the tale of a seasoned crimefighter ruling Gotham City. He is Bruce Wayne still trying to find his footing on his way to becoming the genius detective.

I find it interesting that this movie called The Batman is focusing on the same post-origin but early phase of Batman's career that the 2004 animated series called The Batman also focused on. It's probably a coincidence, or rather, parallel development. After all, the earliest Batman comics called him "The Bat-Man" and then "The Batman," so it's not surprising that stories focusing on Batman's early career would invoke that retro usage.

Interesting point from the article: Pattinson's avoidance of studio tentpole films was part of what drew the filmmakers to him, because it's getting hard to find prominent actors that the MCU hasn't already gobbled up.

The Nolan movies also refer to the character as "the Batman" quite frequently.

Some of your posts make me skeptical of this assertion, but giving you the benefit of the doubt, I suggest you choose your words a LOT more carefully in future and pick ones not so loaded, e.g. people have used "abomination" to condemn gays for ages. One can read what you wrote as condemning "flamingly gay" people rather than a performance you apparently found offensive on some level. Mind you, I've never heard one LGBT person condemn Clooney or O'Donnell's performance as at all offensive or stereotypical. If anything, they call it dull.
I'm more offended by how Mr. Freeze was portrayed.

Well, yeah, as have many comics and productions over the decades. It's common in stories that want to treat Batman as a serious or enigmatic figure. I'm not saying the usage per se is unusual, just that it's an interesting convergence that the two productions that have that as their actual title are taking similar approaches.

Reminds me of one of the better touches in BvS, the early title card reading, "Metropolis: Mankind Is Introduced to the Superman." That "the" in front of "Superman" simply but effectively conveys a perception of him as inhuman, alien, a figure inspiring awe and fear instead of wonder and hope. It's not a portrayal of Superman I prefer, but it conveys the movie's tone very efficiently.

Catwoman and the Joker basically, yeah. No one else is mandatory, though. Not in a film series. There's not enough story available in a film series to work that way. You'd just wind up repeating only the same characters over and over again.

Having said that, I like two-face and he hasn't been done too much. Pairing him with someone new is good - a classic villain and a lesser known one is always fun - so I'd be cool with this.

Apparently there are rumors there might be as many as six villains in this. The only way I can see that working is if the majority of them are just cameos in Arkham or something.

The first Tim Burton Batman premiered 30 Years Ago Today. Remember when Batman fans went bat guano insane over the casting of Michael Keaton and said the movie would be ruined as a result? Too young to recall? Not even born yet?

Well let me tell you...comic book nerds went out of their freaking MINDS and it turned out Keaton knew what he was doing. Twice.

"I'm here for an argument...."
"Aha! No, you want room 12A, next door. "

Wasn't meant to be a disparaging remark about any race of people but thanks for turning it into one.

Huh? I just meant that I don't understand what you meant when you said one of the actors looked more American than the other. If you don't want gratuitous arguments, you could just clarify what you meant.
