What if there was a live action TV show for the Abramsverse version of the Star Trek: Vanguard novels?

Here is the Memory Alpha page about the serieshttp://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Star_Trek%3A_Vanguard

And the characters http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Vanguard_characters

And David Mack's page about the series. http://www.davidmack.pro/vanguard.html Mr. Mack was an author of several novels in the series, and one of his pages has who he would cast as Vanguard characters.

So what do you guys think? Make a mostly carbon copy of Vanguard into the Abramsverse? Make a better version of the novels? Make an Abramsverse version of Deep Space Nine, the way that some people viewed Vanguard as the DS9 to TOs? Realize the U.S.S. Endeavour, U.S.S. Sagittarius, and Starbase 47 on live-action TV? Have Quch'Ha and Hem'Quch on screen together? Or Blingons? Canonize details about the Tholians presented in the novels?

I'm not quite sure what the point would be. If CBS was going to commission a TV series based on a TOS novel series, then wouldn't they just make it in the TOS universe, since that's where the story takes place?

David Mack has said that there is unlikely to ever be a Vanguard TV series. Not the least -- I believe was his contention -- because the amount of royalties a prospective studio would have to pay to all the various writers involved in the series would be a major hurdle. (I don't see why they'd do it in the Abramsverse either.)

Well first off, they'd have to take a lot of time deciding between the obvious choices to play Diego Reyes: Edward James Olmos, or Tommy Lee Jones. That alone could take weeks. ;)

Well my thinking in starting this topic was that a Vanguard TV series could be like a small-screen adaptation of the novels but since the Abramsverse is a different reality, not everything would have to be the same.

^ If it's using the same concepts and setting, I'm not sure changing the specifics really gets around the problem. At any rate the series' appeal is its TOS setting, I don't see it gaining much from moving to the Abramsverse (which is mostly designed for a very specific sector of the big screen market anyway).

It would be a massive coincidence if ANYTHING was the same, really. Butterfly effect and all that. Even though Vanguard takes place only about 20 years after the divergence.
