I can't wait for these books to arrive now!
lol! That's one of the problems I've had with Titan. It gets better with each new book, but the authors really have to stop battering/maiming/psychologically damaging/killing the really good characters!
That's what I was going for when I said I shyed away from the TOS books
Events in the TOS have to tie in with the canon of the later series, so I was worried all the events in the novels would be for nought. (I suppose it's the same problem encountered by ENT *cough* Xindi *cough*
) Now with the new book series, the relaunches and the crossovers, it's like there's no reason not to accept them as a form of canon. Sky's the limit!

Oh, and a parting comment.... The Titan series is always on about "look at how diverse the Titan is." Bullocks. Vanguard is just as diverse, but they don't go about patting themselves on the back for it (the writers or the characters).
A job well done.

There's a great sense of tension, as we don't know where this is going, and things don't have to return to the status quo at the end like TOS books set on the Enterprise would have to. This, in-and-of-itself makes it rise above the rest of Trek Lit.
