Vanguard #4?

No Vanguard in 2008?

Damnit.

Sigh - the one Trek novel series I'm avidly following, and it's off the table for another year.

Oh well.

How much might the next story have to be alter due to the next movie?

You mean Vanguard 4? Unless they simply reboot everything we know about the Trek universe, I don't see how it would be affected. As it stands now, while the storyline we pitched references some known events from TOS, I doubt those references are anything which will come up in the new film (assuming it's set when they say it's set, etc.).

If anything, we may have a chance to incorporate some references to events from the film into our story, assuming such references are appropriate for the story we're hoping to tell.

And... isn't there a Mirror Universe short story collection coming out in 2008 that will feature stories through the rest of the TrekLit ranges? There's always hope for a Vanguard MU story. :)

That's very true.

Hmmmmmmm, I guess now would be a good time to start theorizing what MU Vanguard would be like.

Well, for one thing, Cervantes Quinn is a priest, and Ganz is the jovial host of a popular game show.

It all goes downhill from there.

Add me to the list of folks eagerly awaiting the next installment. Everyone involved has done a great job with the series so far. The books to date have been some of my favorites in the last few years, and Reap the Whirlwind so far is my top pick for best Trek novel of 2007.

Well this just got you another reader! I've added books one through three to my amazon wish-list, and I've a Christmas present cheque from my Dad that's now knows where it's going.

(don't worry, I know it's a joke - but it got me intrigued about the books themselves :))

This is what xmas is all about, getting money from family and buying trek books - the last time I got money from family, I went to my local secondhand scifi bookstore and picked up every book on one shelf. I took it to the counter and I could almost see the guy's eyes whirl like a one arm bandit that just hit the jackpot. I'm hoping to do the same this time.

Oh totally! I just don't get why people say sending money or vouchers shows you don't care. To me, it shows you do care! Spending spree! On stuff I actually want! Which, yeah, is usually Trek books... Last year it was the DS9 Relaunch.

^Yeah. IMO it shows that you care enough about the person to actually let them get what they want, instead of accidently getting them something they don't want.

i've had money for xmas and birthday for the last...15 years or so at least.

as you say, guarentees i get what i want. just annoying as hell when what i *want* isn't out til JANUARY! damn Amazon, damn them to hell!

I'm also wanting to go on the record as someone looking forward to the next installment in this series :) I've enjoyed the books so far. :bolian:
