Vancouver Olympics Discussion

Yes, but that doesn't mean I have to root for those arrogant losers. The current generation of Austrian skiiers are all assholes and the worse they get defeated, the higher the chance they get replaced by new generation. ;)

 Okay then.

Heh, you can barely see the podium up at that snowboard hill.

Congrats to the US for gold in 4-man bobsled. :)

Germany takes silver and Canada is a single hundredth of a second behind with the bronze.

Missed this, watching curling

Congrats to all :techman:

22 or 23 for Canada now?

Yay!

I'd lost count, it's been a busy day

Let's hear it for Martin et al! Go Canada go!

Patriotism isn't a good thing

My point is that Canada has an inferiority complex in relation to the US, and I don't think we need to. I love my country!

I love Canada too, but why are we slipping into "tell-everyone-else-in-the-world-that-our-country-is-the-best-at-everything" routine? That's not necessary. Incessantly boasting that you are the best "something" in the world to others is arrogant, plain and simple.

I'm glad that we are doing so well in the medal count... I have a lot of pride in us being host to the Olympics. I just don't think we have to be dicks about it.

Of course... this may not apply to tomorrow's men's hockey game USA vs CAN. That's a deep rooted phenomenon of a rivalry. Can't wait! :D

I don't see the problem here. Setting high goals, being proud of our acomplishments, and celebrating our success: shame on Canada!

We've set a new standard for the winter olympics, and we're awesome. Other countries are just going to have to live with that for four years, upon which time they'll get the chance to outshine us.

They just showed a shot of Donald Sutherland watching the match - he looked kind of antsy when he realized he was on camera.

^Well it looked like he hadn't brushed his hair today

Great curling match!

ETA: I was trying all night to figure out what the Norway outfits reminded me of, and it's the Burger King uniform :p
