Oh! That wasn't Aridas.. that was Bill Colley. I was drawing submitted ships for a FASA forum (of which he was the moderator) so that the site could have a consistent graphic, but this one cased him to go complete nutters when I drew that one out.

For my own purposes, I replaced that design with the Takahasi instead.

DY-150 / Aridas Sofia Class

(A retrograde onto existing DY-100 ships to add Cochrane's new warp drive to make cheap WF 1/2 freighters)

Takahasi Class Escort (replacement for Harakawa)

I hate to address and already old issue, however, as a collector of information I became very curious as to the Harakawa/Takahasi issue. I was researching your Takahasi-class patrol escort when I ran into the Aridas Sofia patrol action vessel USS Harakawa with the same registry number.

As I understand it (after the Bill Colley issue), the Sofia PAV Harakawa would later be redesignated and refit to Takahasi escort patrol specifications. I hope this is correct. This would also answer my question in the matter of both ships having the registry NCC-3680 -- eventhough not a very important issue, I am a stickler for correctness.

One other thing, Is it "Takahasi" or "Takahashi"? I labeled the ship using "shi" but will correct my encyclopedia (Memory Delta) appropriately.

Thank you for your time and spectacular designs. I have many more questions, but they will wait.

It's a "real world" replacement.

The guy, who designed the Harakawa objected to Vance publishing a schematic of his design, so Vance drew up a replacement.

It would appear that all the images are broken in this thread, or at least the ones for the last few pages of it.

Jaynz has moved to jaynz.trekships.org . Due to the sheer number of links involved, I won't be updating them for all the posts here, though. All the color ship schematics are available on the new site, however.

Hey Vance, any updates on your site since last month?

Mostly code and organizing. I haven't updated the pages with the background stuff recently since I didn't think anyone cared about it.. heh. I should rectify that, I suppose.

Currently I'm working on an Excelsior class saucer... I'm not entirely happy with it, but I'll have a ship making use of that saucer by Monday, though, to fetch opinions.
