Vance's Schematics II

Ripley class, huh? Is there an "alien" on board? :)

I like this design, too. It looks like a late-23rd century precursor to the Runabout.

I like this kind of design because the nacelles look to be of the same linear warp drive technology as the refit Enterprise and the NX-2000 Excelsior. Using my W.D.E. concept of "warp drive evolution", if this ship could go only (linear) warp factor 4, that's still 4 times faster than "circumferential" warp 4, or "better than warp 6" as Spock said of the Klingons in "Elaan of Troyus". So, she doesn't have to "be a speed demon" in order to "go fast".

Victoria Class Transport
My take on a TOS Sydney class

More like a direct reply to 'believe it or not'. :)

Well, they're the Oberth's nacelles, which were originally going to be used for the Excelsior, so I suppose that it makes sense to use them this way. They just seem different because they're not coupled to the Oberth's primary hull like we usually see.

Vance, I have to say I love your design work, makes me wish I could do more than cut and paste. The Victoria class looks good, but is it just me or does the ship look like a starship sized TOS era shuttle? No offense intended, but with the hull shape all it needs are downward slanted nacelles struts and you'd have the biggest member of the shuttle family from TOS. :)

That was deliberate, actually, since the Sydney is just a flipped-over ST:V shuttle with new warp engines and a bridge section strapped on... so I took the same approach when making the Victoria. :)

Well, in this case, it's NOT a shuttle flipped over, but it uses the original shuttle's overall design cues.

Pleiades Class Surveyor
From Schuster Publishing... one of the more oddball designs out of those little guides.

^Didn't Jackill use that one too? I always thought one could build that one out of a couple of Aurora model stands. :)

I didn't have any references for the aft view, but I doubt a lot of thought was put into her. It would probably be pretty plain, with the impulse deck being the only real detail.

As for Jackill, I'm not sure. He's got a LOT of second-tier stuff in his datasheets, but I never got his larger TOS guide. :S

Jackill had a TMP-refit version of the Pleiades in one of the three SRMs (i have no access to mine right now, but i think. it was Nr. 2).

Apollo Class
(Bethesda Version, basically a Saladin variant without unique parts)

Masao Class Deckhouse Destroyer
From Forbin's Kibash... I think it's Forbin.. it's one of you guys, but it's been a long long time...

^^ I haven't been into single-nacelle designs for a long time, but this one is great!

I drew a similar hangar-on-top-of-saucer derivative of the Saladin when I was in high schol about 25 years ago...

Like the deflector dish placement. Nice design.
