Valentine's Day Haters Welcome Here

Do you hate Valentine's Day? Do you start avoiding stores because of their nauseating displays and shelves overflowing with pink and red? Do you want to take those stupid little candy hearts and throw them at couples kissing and whispering sweet nothings to each other?

You don't have to be single to hate Valentine's Day. Let us all join hands and rage together at this sickening holiday which torments us once a year!

I might have. Don't say I've never done anything for you! I actually kind of hate Valentine's Day, too. Usually I ban my husband from doing anything for it but this year I want flowers. I like to switch up my mind just to be difficult.

I hate VD so much. I'll spend the day in my room, with the TV and radio off so i won't have to hear any sappy love thing.

I'm usually indifferent to Valentine's Day. When I was bartending, it was a good day to make money because lots of couples would go out to dinner.

I've gone back and forth on Valentine's Day, but this year it's kinda different because I'm far away from my wife and I miss her. I sent her flowers and got her a new cell phone. She's happy.

Commercialized to no end. More commercial than Christmas.

Yep, I'm a hater of VD.

And Valentine's Day.

I have a general dislike of Valentine's Day. All it does is put pressure on men and women to buy useless trinkets for someone to express their love.
The only thing I like about Valentine's Day is that it's my doggy's birthday.

I hate the idea of having to buy crap for someone just to show that you love them. VD as a reminder to be romantic is ok, but it's really become WAY to commercialized. I blame Teleflora, FTD, and Hallmark for this.

Also, around here, it means 14 hour workdays. :klingon:

Incredibly, I'm not the first poster here. :guffaw:

But seriously, why wait until a day celebrating the doings of a patron saint to tell someone that you love them? It's the sort of thing you should be saying to the one you love at any time of the year, as many times as you want to.

I mean... why wait?

I work in a supermarket, I've no choice but to look at flowers and red & pink crap everywhere (and I'm working Saturday & Sunday where it's gonna be overload)

And I've been single for ages now...

But to be honest I'm not that bothered. And I was just looking at some of the flowers we have for sale tonight actually. A basic bunch of roses is £10. A nice big bunch is £30!
 Fuck that! It's a brilliant time to be single! Not having to buy any of that crap

I used to work at Disneyland; you'd be amazed how much crap there would be for Val's Day. Ugh, it made me hate the day more.

I'm glad V-Day is on a Sunday this year, and it just so happens to be the busiest Sunday in Sports so far this year. I'll probably forget that it is V-Day watching stuff like the Daytona 500 and the Olympics.

I'm guessing there are a lot of big tippers on Valentine's. :D

(OT, I can't say I have any strong feeling about Valentine's, one way or another. If you happen to be with someone on the day, it's a fun little holiday. If not, no biggie.)
