'V' exec confirms cast departures - SPOILERS

what happened to science guy? they kinda forgot about him the past two/three episodes.

I really dislike blondie constantly disarming their efforts to protect her dumbass lizard nazi son. I also feel like the aliens must be complete idiots. They can make fake skin and look like humans, but they don't already control everything? They also seem to favor primitive weapons like some sort of grunting retarded Klingon. I mean, shit, what if they put one of those disintegration capsules into a gun and launched it at somebody? They seem to prefer knives and regular old earth guns.

It is sad that a show from the 1980s had ray guns, but the Visitors just can't pull something like that off now. That would just destroy the budget. Why don't they show some damn lizards without their skin just walking around for a bit? Why don't the resistance people skin one and have show and tell?

You mean the Israeli guy?

I think he actually means Hobbes, the British/Australian guy. :rommie:

Yeah I watched some more last night, and he's British I think.

But this kinda makes my point. He's just a walking face. Don't know who he is, what he is... totally forgettable. Last night I watched eps 5 and 6, which actually were pretty good... but with him they just played the wife card. That seems to be what they keep playing.. wife or baby card.

Oded Fehr was in it, he's great... but didn't seem to last long.

The actor is Charles Mesure, who was born in England but grew up in Australia. Hobbes is presumably Australian.

Not at all. Animating an energy beam is far simpler than the pill-disintegration, mouth-distortion, tail attacks, Blue Energy, morphing probe-weapon thingy, and extensive virtual sets that the show employs routinely. I think it's just that ray guns are regarded as a dated sci-fi concept. And rightly so -- they're kind of a silly idea. No matter how advanced your technology gets, one of the best ways to deliver destructive energy to a target will always be to hit it with something very solid traveling very fast. A solid, dense projectile with high kinetic energy is a much more efficient way of delivering energy across a distance than a laser beam (which demands a great deal of power to achieve comparable effects) or a plasma bolt (which is difficult to keep from dispersing over a distance).

I can't say I'm surprised, and I'm not a bit disappointed. The slow-as-molasses story progression has been a problem from the beginning: the Visitors are still pretending to play nice with the humans, and I feel like Erica is dancing around with Anna. The characters really are two-dimensional and not particularly anyone the viewers care about or connect with. I don't mean to sound hypocritical about a show I still watch on a weekly basis; I just think it could be so much better and could have lots of potential.

I find it hard to watch this show because of its cheap, shitty looking virtual sets (among other things like horrible acting and plot lines)... here's hoping BSG: B&C doesn't share the same visual aesthetic.

If anything Blood and Chrome will have MORE virtual assest and the like as it went from an internet websode project to a half and half backdoor pilot. SyFy is know for going ultra cheap when it comes to anything they make for their own network.

As for the V downsing:

1) Probably domne to TRY and make a play fpr 3rd season renewal (Look , smaller cast, smaller budget, less physical sets needed.)

2) Leaving a 'sinking ship'? Hell, I don't see any big name actors who are getting single series or movie offers. Hell, this show was a steady check for them in a downsized economy. I doubt any of those axed were looking to lose a paying gig.

3) I agree in that I don't think we'll see a season 3 of this show; and while I watched it - I agree, it's nothing I'd miss were it to get canned - but aspects were improving here and there for a while; but lately it's devolved back into a ploding soap opera mess; which is why II won't miss it if it goes.

Yeah, even assuming that they can't take over the lives of individual famous humans: they should have been able to work their way up the rungs of power by now. At the very least, one of them should be a Bill Gates-like character who has a back-door into most computers on Earth.
