Two or three are on the way out, allegedly.

You know I stopped watching very early one as quite simply the show was crap.

Started watching season two because of Jane Badler, and it is still 90% crap. But there's the odd glimmer of something better. The odd moment where they start to 'get it'.

I also think that Anna is great, and Morena really started to nail the part in season two.

However my overriding feeling is still mostly: shit cast. It really is a full of 'who cares'. Scott Wolf, yawn. Joe Gretsch, yawn. Morris Chestnut, not great. Then there's that French (?) guy. And I felt they needed to clear out dead wood.

So I'm very intrigued to see if the show survives, how it evolves and if they can clear out some dead wood and maybe turn it into a half decent show.

I'm not even sure why I'm bothered to be honest, I'd never normally bother this much with a poor show. I guess being a huge fan of the original V must be swaying me.

I watch the show but I don't really care that strongly for it. I guess it's nice that there's going to be a shakeup. I don't feel that confident about it being renewed, though.

I hope this means that the producers recognize that they made casting mistakes with both Ryan and Tyler. PLEASE let those two be the first to the chopping block. They drag down every scene they are in, and between the two of them, they're in most scenes.

Ryan is a simple solution - just have him lose the human suit, either by accident or on purpose, to help hide from his enemies, which at this point, is basically everyone. I nominate Ben Browder as the new human suit. If they wanna keep Ryan the same race, what's Harry Lennix doing nowadays?

Lisa is too important to the story - like Erica and Anna, she's safe. I don't expect Diana to be a key part of the story, but I see no reason to off her anytime soon either.

The problems with Chad and Father Jack are largely character, not actor based. What is the point of either character? With the "souls" plotline, Father Jack has an obvious possible role developing, but Chad still seems useless. And a news anchor character may just be a hard type to pull off well. In any case, Wolfe can't do it. I nominate Chad for the third to get the axe.

Then there's that French (?) guy.
You mean the Israeli guy?

I didn't see the guy who plays Hobbes mentioned in the list. Is this a hint that he might not make it to the season finale?

Of the three to buy the farm, I could see Hobbes, Decker, and Diana. Ryan is also a possibility though I wonder how they would tie up the daughter storyline. I think Tyler and Lisa are too integral to the storyline. I also could see Father Jack staying on as Erica's moral compass.

But the others:

-Hobbes just gets in the way of Erica being the leader of their cell. Erica kicks ass without him. He's become superfluous to an extent. I could see him making a heroic sacrifice after feeling so bad for knuckling under to the Vs.

-I could also see Ryan dying to save his daughter. Temis's idea of having Ryan go sans human suit would be too expensive to pull off on a weekly basis. As for another actor coming in, possible. But I wonder if this move isn't being made to cut down on costs, perhaps to try to make the show more affordable for a potential third season. As the Fifth Column learns more about the Vs, Ryan's role become more expendable since he's not a necessary fount of wisdom.

-I'm surprised that Diana has lasted as long as she has. I just thought it was going to be a cameo. So far they haven't done much with her and I could see her finally making her play and losing against Ana since we know Baccarin will return.

-As the Vs evil plans become more obvious, its going to be hard having Decker defend them and/or keep his work with the resistance secret.

No, I mean swap suits - meaning the character is recast with another actor, one who is better suited to the role.

Most likely. Fortunately for them, they don't really need anyone but Erica, Anna and Lisa for the show to go on. I'd argue that the next most important character is Ryan, played by whichever actor. After that, it could be a revolving door of people who are helping Erica and Ryan (somehow reconciled - or what if Erica doesn't realize who Ryan really is?) at any given time.

I like Joel Gretsch, so I'd like him to stay with the show. Here's a radical thought - Anna manages to kill Father Jack, but to psych her out, Ryan takes over Father Jack's human suit (ewwwww) and, desperate to get back into the fight, Ryan impersonates Father Jack. Joel Gretsch will have to play the role as more combative than before, but Erica might just think he's just finally reconciled himself to needing to fight.

If they do this I hope they explain it to the viewers like they do on soap operas.

I started losing focus at seeing "Ben Browder" and "skin" etc in one sentence... mmmm... Ben Browder skin...

That's funny. Also funny is that he seemed kind familiar, but wow... that's him! Ha.

I find it hard to watch this show because of its cheap, shitty looking virtual sets (among other things like horrible acting and plot lines)... here's hoping BSG: B&C doesn't share the same visual aesthetic.

Never heard of that soap, but that Joey Buchanan seems change appearances quite often according to Wikipedia... :P

B&C would have to have an even smaller budget, being a cable show where V is network.

I could see none of this mattering when the show gets canned.

I agree. This show is so stunningly DULL and the characters are so dim. It's just not fun to watch. I really don't care WHO dies (with the exception of Tyler; I want to see him die a horrific death, the putz) and I'm hoping it gets the axe fairly quickly.

I was enthusiastic early on, and chalked up missteps to new pilot series growing pains, but now I realize this is as good as it's going to get, at least in the short to long term. I can't stand the Ryan or Father Jack character, the Hobbes character is a complete mess, actually, they're all suffering character wise, and it's the writing. I think the actors are all competent enough, but the writing is simply horrid.

The odd part is the simplest indoor corridors look the shakiest (on V).

I never had a problem with the alien ship backgrounds.

Tyler is her teenage son right? Yeah he IS annoying.

^Yeah, that's him. The 18 year old who is written like a 8 year old.

Heh. I'm a Blake's 7 fan; I can forgive crappy special effects. But crappy dialogue? Dull characters? No chance.
