Utah Photos (Mild Spoilers)

Fez to Stetson.

I think that may very well be the coolest picture of Matt Smith I've seen yet! :techman:

I'm surprised to hear anyone's getting tired of River yet, given that she's only appeared in a grand total of three stories (all of which were two-parters). I mean, c'mon. You might as well say you're tired of Amy as of "Victory of the Daleks."

Anyway, who else finds it incredibly cool and exciting to see the Doctor here in America?! :)

Nah.

sexy is what you do with what you got.

She had more back then, but it was a depressing drama about doctors in the crosshairs of a bitter god... She was allowed to do almost zero with all that she had.

If she had tried to be sexy, I doubt we could have withstood it.

But then, I was still coasting on the Ballard of Moll Flanders.

Lesbian murderessers (what a weird word.) in bodices.

I knew what she was hiding.

And it looks like River's 'Best Man' could be
JFK

Did River shoot JFK?

The thing that get's me about this speculation is that River was imprisoned in the Storm Cage in the 52nd century for murdering "A very good man. Best man I've ever known". If this turned out to be the person mentioned in the spoiler tags then it would mean that she was imprisoned for a murder that was committed over three thousand years ago. There may be no statute of limitation on murder, but seriously that's taking the piss. :wtf:

Call me a cynical old sceptic, but it just doesn't seem likely somehow.

River and the Time Agency are both from the 51st century. It seems only logical that if she killed someone in the past they'd have jurisdiction.

TIME AGENTS 1 & 2 are pursuing RIVER SONG through time. They've caught up to her in the early 21st century. RIVER throws LUKE SMITH in front of a bus which he had almost failed to see before crossing the road, killing him instantly.

TIME AGENT 1: Well, bugger. We'll never get a conviction for that.

TIME AGENT 2: What are you talking about? We just saw her do it! We have it recored on our wrist things!

TIME AGENT 1: Are you kidding? My God, man, she murdered that boy three thousand years before you were born! This is the perfect definition of a cold case.

TIME AGENT 2: Three thou.... we time-travel for a living! Get the cuffs, we'll have her in front of a judge inside of an hour!

The trouble is that no one in the audience cares if JFK gets killed. I think most people have become used to the notion. I think Moffat is a better writer than that.

After all of the set-up, she needs to kill someone that will make the audience sit up in their chairs and change everything.

This is one of those rare occasions when I'm with Kelso 100%. Killing what's-his-name would be trite. I expect better things from Moffat.

I kinda wonder if River "kills" the Eleventh Doctor, and she's imprisoned for that. After all if a Doctor can refer to his impending regeneration as dying for himself, then it's not unreasonable to say that if the act leading to that is a deliberate one, that act could be construed as murder.

That's how it starts, Psion. That's how it starts.

:)

That's what I'm hoping for. It's a bit obvious, but would be interesting... esp. if Doc 12 then meets her earlier in her time-stream.

Honestly, I don't actually believe River's victim is the man spoiler coded above. My post was a partial joke meant to throw a possibility out there different from the usual "it's implied she killed the Doctor, so it must me him." Honestly, if you pay close enough attention to the conventions of television, then you'd know that it can't be the Doctor.

Maybe im jumping to conculsion, but could this be the Alliance of Shades?

If the episode is written by Phil Ford, then they could most certainly be. Even if it isn't written by him, I see no reason why they can't be. Yeah, I know that British copyrights allow the writer to basically own something they create for their episodes, but let's face facts: Phil Ford isn't Terry Nation and the Alliance of Shades aren't the Daleks. I doubt Moffat would have too much trouble borrowing the Alliance from Ford.
