I really like this design. It's a fresh perspective to the TOSera where we have seen chop-ups of the same thing over and over.
I thought about using the deflector pods as impulse engines as well, but I figured that might be pushing the technology of that era a bit too far. There are those bulky areas near the rear where the nacelles attach, which you have to think are there for a reason. I decided I'd stick the engines on the ends of them, giving loads of internal volume for engine gubbins.While the idea of pylon-mounted impulse engines is very interesting and a cute nod to ENT, I had envisioned the aft tip of the "dish pods" as being used for aft torpedo banks. But that's just me.
A bit OT, but what's the story with that Connie silhouette? It's nacelles and pylon connecting bits aren't the usual deal.
