USS Titan 3D pic????

I'm anxious to see this... should be fascinating to see how the final model turned out.

Is there a web page or other source of information re: this "tour" we're talking about? Gotta wonder if it'll stop by anywhere remotely nearby where I live, or if it's just a "New York, LA, and maybe Chicago" sorta thing...

sure here is the link: http://www.startrek.com/custom/include/community/tour/
And here is a teaser for every one.

Well here they are, the pictures of the U.S.S. Titan Model
that is on display in the Star Trek Tour That opens this
weekend.

In accordance with Mr. Rizzardi's wishes I am limited in
the amount of pics shown. Hopefully these will be enough
to wet you appetite to go see her in person.

I wish I could post more, but I don't want to offend Mr. Rizzardi.
These are some of my favorite out of the 193 pictures that he
Sent during the build.

Enjoy

I'm surprised that they milled it out of an opaque material (looks like talc-filled polypropylene?) rather than a transparent material.

Evidently it's not lit, huh? (sigh)

Shame, that...

Nice model - and one hell of a good looking ship.

If the on-line Trek game sees the light of day, I hope they use this Luna-class starship design as part of the fleet.

It's one thing to see something you've created in schematics or 3D computer modeling, but it's something else to see it in a form that's physical and real...

I posted the Titan Images over a Trek Web, and guess what the same old Kitbashing grips
have started up again. I guess you can never stop them. Oh well, here we go again.

Well, the answer to the "kitbashing" argument, if it comes up and you feel like arguing with 'em, is to ask which ship you took the funky lil' primary-hull "notches" off of.

See how quickly THAT shuts up the "experts." ;)

It's got a roll bar, and it's got engines built on the same line as the Akira's engines. Fine... it's part of the same design family as Akira. It's not actually THE Akira.

I still wish they'd gone more "TOS-ish" but it looks like until I take over Paramount, nobody's ever really going to revisit the pre-TNG-era design style again. (sigh)

I would love to see a show or movie that takes place between
The Movie Era and TNG. That would be fun.

Seconded - I always thought that they'd get around to filming that era.

Ah, despite MISPERCEPTIONS to the contrary, I never disliked the ship. I quibbled about the placement of the impulse engines (still think that could be better, but oh well!) and I expressed disappointment that they missed the chance to do a "TNG-era" equivalent to the Constitution (which is what I was shooting for with my own design, of course) but I never disliked Sean's work.

Took a while, I think, to convince HIM of that, though, huh? ;)

I think this is a fitting member of the TNG-and-later-era fleet. A "Reliant" to the Sovereign's "Enterprise" if you will.

Man you must be so proud, i would be, is there any chance you will be given a copy of the model.

I have mates who say that the Titan books dont count as trek canon, but ive always said that until they give us something else to watch the books are the only thing we have, and having the Titan at the tour should shut them up.

If we ever have a TNG movie i think they would and should use her.

Personally, I think Paramount should embrace the "extended universe" concept that has served Star Wars so well, canonizing the best of the best of non-screen Trek. Unfortunately, the only way I think that can work is that Lucas is still alive. At this point in time, I know of no one, with the possible exception of DC Fontana, who would be qualified to canonize other Trek works.
