USS EQUINOX vs USS ENTERPRISE-E

I have been watching Season 5 and Season 6 of STAR TREK VOYAGER, and I noticed that on the last episode of season 5, that the USS EQUINOX looks very similar to the USS :)ENTERPRISE-E NCC1701-E.:) Does anybody else think this was a pre-draft to Enterprise-E used in the TNG movies?
I think, aside from the nacelles, Voyager looks a lot like a smaller Enterprise-E (although John Eaves claims he'd not seen Voyager when he designed the -E). Equinox is an even smaller, less stretched out version. Making big, medium and small versions of the same basic design - which you can see amongst these:

Actually, I borrowed a few detail elements from what John Eaves was doing on the Ent-E and stuck them into the Equinox. Two different artists, two different art departments, one Starfleet stylistic commonality.

So after Janeway gets back, and the story is told about Ransom, the Nova Class will be discontinued, and the ships name "Equinox" will never be...

Actually?

Gone for seven years, half the fleet destroyed and replaced because of the Dominion War, odds are that there was already a new USS Equinox, although there's no telling what class of ship it might have been.

So?

Would the new Equinox once it's full legacy is revealed, feel compelled to change the name of their ship and all their stationary because of what the last Equinox did?

I think you did a great job of evoking a sense of both ship designs belonging to the same (or roughly the same) generation.

I remember thinking the Equinox looked slightly newer than Voyager.

Equinox had been in the Delta Quadrant 6 months longer than Voyager, and we don't know how long it had been in service in the Alpha Quadrant... But Capturing Chakotay was Voyager's first mission and Captain Janeway's first mission as a Captain.

The only reason it would look newer than Voyager is that in stead of stirring up shit and fighting tooth and nail to prove that he is right, the Captain of the Equinox preferred to run away and hide anywhere comfortable until his opposition gave up looking for him.

Oh, I meant looked "newer" design-wise, i.e. Nova class compared to Intrepid.

In terms of visible wear and tear, Voyager always appeared to be in mint condition ;)

Voyager would have been built in response to the Cardassian threat exposed by Robert Maxwell, or possibly the Maquis.

If the Nova Class was a generation behind that, or even half a generation, these ships would have been built during peace time because "science is cool".

Although, smaller new ships would have been absolutely necessary to rebuild the fleet as quickly as possible after Wolf 359. 10 tiny ships = 1 capital ship = Resources = Time.

Who is the bucket?

Riker's enormous jaw?

The Doomsday Machine?

Odo's?

Yes she has that personable and roundish look which is very nice but right now at this moment Spike is a nazi so, tootles.

He's not a NAZI.

They just had great coats.

Have you ever considered that Nazi fashion designers lost the war for the party?

The Russian Offensive failed because they couldn't take Stalingrad (Et Al Russia.) before Winter for which the Romper Stompers did not have the cold weather gear to survive the next 4 months easily.

If German Infantry coats were less expensive, less well made, less fabulous, then the Reich not decimated by the elements would have taken Russia and won the war.

Vanity did them in.

What if James Marsters (see, I'm using the real actory name) had played Kashyk. And been, as he can do so well, provocative. The very thing Janeway requested her holo-lover should have extra of.

Well that's quite a fantasy.

Jim has been playing an evil Sorcerer who the goodygoodnik's think is their pal on Witche's of East End for the last 3 or 4 episodes.

Witches of Eastend would be like Charmed, if Charmed had no reset button, even though it is made for the love conquers all, drunk by noon, housewives who subscribe to the Lifetime Channel.
