USS Enterprise 1701 hybrid of Arbramsverse and TOS

Hey everyone, I've created this design for a friend Tom Rasch, he did and awesome sketch of what he thought would be the perfect hybrid enterprise of old and new. And I loved it so much, I had to model it!

I like that, a lot!
It has an almost "Ambassador Class" aura about it.. (Enterprise C).
Good work, the both of ya's! :)

Beyond the basic shape, it doesn't remind me of either version of the Enterprise.

Well it was Toms idea to merge old and new, I think his concept did that, It may not look like either ship, But it would be stupid to have JJ nacelles and pylons, stardrive of TMP enterprise and saucer and neck of the TOS version..

There don't seem to be any design cue's from either version. I'm hard pressed to find any details related to either version beyond the general shape. The nacelles pylons sweep back here where they're pretty much up and down on the other versions, the nav deflector is a dome where it is a dish on the other versions. The rim of the saucer slants outwards from top to bottom, where in the other versions it slants inward.

Nothing about the details reminds me of either the Abrams or TOS version of the ship.

would be a great 24th Century Constitution Refit 2 or a what if a Constitution Class ship from the 2260's was refit with 24th Century tech without ever getting anything from the 2270's refit :)

Well it was what he saw when he imagined what it would look like. And I find original creations far more interesting anyway.

I think it would be a rather good design to replace the Enterprise that is lost in the up coming movie.

I think it looks nice.
I have a question: If it's a hybrid of the TOS (movie) Enterprise and the Abrams' Enterprise, it is 1000 feet long or 3000 feet long or something in the middle?

This is the Size Comp Tom did from one of my images

So, assuming the 1005 foot length usually given for the movie refit, it's around 1050-1100 feet, and more importantly, it's hull volume is just a bit larger that the refit's. That's a scale I could live with.

I have to agree that it really doesn't look like a mixture of the Classic and JJ Enterprises, it just looks like a new take on the material. And on that basis it ain't bad. I like the cel-shaded render most, oddly enough. :)

Cool, there's a lot of things I like about this. 2 things I would change is the back part of the nacelles on Enterprise, and use smaller lettering on the saucer section.

I really like the Toon-Render pics though, those are pretty cool. :)
