USS Discovery ship design PROS & CONS

The Discovery Wikipedia page has a size comparison with a Constitution-class ship. Is it from a real source, or just something from a fan with far too much self-importance?

I thought it looked even bigger than that comparison in the teaser video, with a Kelvin-sized (2x diameter of the original Enterprise's) saucer. But, it's an early CG model and those windows could be floor-to-ceiling or the size of stamps, so who knows?

And, like every post such as this one concerning every ship we have ever seen, it will be as boring as the day is long.

And in the end nothing will change. Opinions will be expressed and forgotten.

With regards to the look of the USS Discovery, I think that what we're seeing at the moment is probably nothing more than simple a very rough idea of what the ship may eventually turn out to look like. The final design may very be a much more streamlined design.
As for the uniforms, well, they'll probably look something like somewhere between Enterprise and The Original Series. Possibly something like what was seeing in The Cage would be my guess.

Perhaps the large hull is to accommodate construction equipment and raw materials for establishing outposts. Presumably Starfleet must have ships that are capable of performing this task in addition to carrying out normal operations such as exploration and defence.

As wide as that design could be--you could fly a Maquis raider and land it...had it not been a century ahead in the timeline.

I just remember being all excited when I was about to see it for the first time, but that excitement quickly sank into a pit of disappointment. But hey, can't love everything they come out with. :-)
