Re: USS Detroyat-Look'g for a good CGI artist interested in create'g m
Believe it or not, I am nearly finished with the 3 perspective views I plan to use within this new general plans set.
Only one will be used as a full sheet size image and the other two will get used as smaller images somwhere in these plans.
Probably when I start writing/re-writing all of the construction and performance/mission histories for this class.
That will use up 1 perhaps 2 of this 10 sheet set.
I am back to work on the actual plans with 4 out of the 10 sheets complete. I am working out details for specific decks and to incorporate enough deck schematic info to complete the crossection sheet, also.
I think this took me longer to do in Photoshop than it probably would've taken doing these in a 3D model application, but under the circumstances it's the way it went.
I wanted to complete this whole thing by now... put it behind me...the result should be worth the efforts to date.
Anyhoo,
I am posting a test image of one of the Detroyat perspective images with a star field background.
This is just a test for me and to get some feedback.
Trying to match proper lighting on the models surface to match that of the star field background is a real pain when doing this the old fashioned way.
This image may or may not be a final one in the set. I have a lot of different star field backgrounds culled from a lot of sources.
I'll end up using one really good background image for the larger print image and perhaps more generic star field pattern backgrounds for smaller images.
Plus I am modifying and adjusting these, as well to get a good blend of both images.
I am trying to create at least one star field background that will accentuate or compliment the way I envisioned how the colors of the ship would play off of different space or galactic phenomema.
Don't think I did too bad with this for first attempt.
