USS Artemis kitbash leaves drydock

I still don't much care for the design but damn if you don't make it kinda work. From one or two angles, she actually looks somewhat graceful. Very fine as usual.

My thoughts exactly. Well done, sir!

Man I'm jealous.....I can't even get myself started on a new project and you already spited out 4 great models in no time...good job.

Forbin - Have you no shame!!!! You take a couple of days and put something together that not only "works" in the sense that it has a coherent flow to it, but you do so off of a few drawings from a discarded refit Enterprise and make it look better in the process!!!!!!!!

I'm tellin' ya, this is good stuff (as is usually the case) and I can't wait to see more.

I just wish we could add you on as a consultant or something to the ST XI. Then again, given your penchant for kit bashing, we would probably end up with another gorgeous ship, but not the Enterprise!! :guffaw:

Great job and keep up the good work.

To start, let me say I love movie era designs.

At some glances, this ship looks OK. But sometimes the saucer looks too small compared to the secondary hull.

I also have an easy time seeing this ship with a third center mounted nacelle. I've never been a fan of three nacelle ships - I thought the "future" Ent-D in All Good Things was just goofy - but I can see it working with this one. I wonder what it would look like...

I had a 1/1000 saucer held up to the hull before I started, but that look way too big. The 1/1000 would look closer to the McQuarrie sketch, and the 1/1400 looked closer to the Ariel design. I just liked the smaller saucer better.

Tanks guys! *blush*

I think you should try a BOLO next.

If I could grasp what the damn things look like! I'd love to see someone attempt a kit of one some day (small, though! even 1/72 would be huge!)

maybe Obyekt 279 comes close?

That's a fine piece of work, John. Really exceptional. It is hard to believe it is a kit bash. The design is so harmonious, it appears to have been created from scratch.

I like it every bit as much as the Ariel. If I had done any more with the FRS site, I would have liked to include this ship. I like it as a light carrier, but your approach is equally fun. :D

Well considering how low res the graphics of that game are, you could pretty much get away with any tank design you wanted with one barrel.

wrong bolo, i think. 'bolo' also refers to a series of massive, artificially-sentient tanks, created by keith laumer and featured in a series of short stories and novels by him (and now others). the computer game is unrelated.

I have to say, this ship came out VERY nicely... the lines work, and the ship is very beautiful... great work, as usual.
