USA - Memorial Day Weekend

I just got back from a week and a half trip to Southern California so I really don't have any plans. Probably watching Baseball or something like that.

Today I took my daughter to the water park. Tomorrow we're going to the lake. We might go to the water park again on Monday.

I have been working retail for two years so I don't really remember what a 3 day weekend is. I never even have 2 days off in a row. But I do have my usual Sunday off, so I might go see a movie with my boyfriend.

^I've never seen my wife wear heels. She's a distance runner and values her ankles.
My fiancée is not really fond of heels for the same reason (she's not really a runner, but she values stability over fashion). In addition, I have subtly discouraged her from wearing heels because she's taller than me with them. My clever plan has succeeded so far. :D

You're doing it wrong.

Get her to wear 6" stilettos so you can stare directly at her chest without seeming awkward.

Ugh, what a day. Woke up early yesterday at my friend's Chicago apartment and started the day with Screwdrivers, then went to the Cubs game.

Then I lost my cellphone.

Then my friend got kicked out of the Cubs game.

Then he dropped his cellphone in the toilet.

Then I almost got kicked out of the game (apparently you're not allowed to put your head down at a baseball game; they think you're too drunk).

Blah. Now I don't have a phone.

Going to fire the '34 Ford up for a local Memorial Day parade tomorrow. The kids love to sit in the rumble seat and throw candy out.

Should be a good time.

I got hitched! I'll upload a few in the pictures thread when I have the pixes

Spent yesterday meeting Leonard Nimoy and getting his autograph. Today I'll go looking for another pair of Nike or New Balance cross-trainers (to replace my older pair that is finally worn out after three years) and may go BBQ with some friends. Tomorrow maybe a movie.

This weekend is the Phoenix Comic Con isn't it? Hope it's a good one.

Hubby is working all three days of this weekend. People insist on being in the hospital on holidays.

What for?

That sounds wrong to me. Not allowed to put your head down? No decent stadium security would ever throw somebody out for doing THAT...

The guy was being a total douchebag. I spoke to his supervisor, and he let me go back into the game. He had no idea why the security guy had even pulled me out.

I think the security officer was on a power trip.

That it is. Had a good enough time that next year I'm going for the full event pass instead of just the one day exhibitor pass I went for this year. Wonderful con and lots and lots of attendees/things to do. We managed to fill the new side of the convention center this year. Hard to imagine this con was being held in a small hotel just 4 years ago. Must have been 100,000 attendees this year.

Too right. Some times they do that. I remember one game where this one guy in the bleachers threw beer on Shane Victorino, security kicked out the WRONG GUY! I don't know if they ever found the right one. :sigh:

Personally, though, I was in Chicago a couple of months ago and I found everyone at Wrigley to be very friendly (it really is the 'friendly confines', just like they say).

Although the Cell has better food, definitely. Corn off the cob...

Wrigley was nice, but the fans are as big of drunken, degenerate, assholes as I'm normally stuck sitting next to here in the northeast.

I hate the throw the ball back after a home run thing, and the game I went to there, they cheered when someone got hit by a pitch and broke a bone.
