USA distribution -CBS All Access discussion

That's true of anything transmitted via cable/satellite/internet in general because (unless it's a premium where they advertise and charge extra) there is usually some signal or data compression.

Right, but many people don't know that because they're so happy with the fact that they have 4K that they don't realize it's 4K-Lite.

Hey...is the premiere episode still airing on regular CBS? Will just that episode be available On Demand (other than Netflix)?

The premiere episode will air concurrently on regular OTA CBS and CBS All Access this Sunday at 8:30 P.M. ET, (handegg permitting). That will be the only episode available On Demand. The other fourteen episodes will be exclusively on CBS All Access in the United States.

OK...wanted to be sure. I will probably miss the premiere...and want to see it before my kids (since they seem to be NOT making this family friendly, apparently).

And I also want to judge if it will be worth CBS all access or not

CBS doesn't really ever show TV-MA content on its network, so the premiere might be safe to show the kids. And they haven't announced that the streaming version will be different (which they did with the Good Fight because of some cursing/nudity).

The Co-Producer said the show was still a family show.
From what I saw, it seems like it...

Hey, on topic a bit... it looks like , at least the day after, Star Trek Discovery pilot is NOT On Demand (at least via COmcast). I had to switch between another show, so missed parts of it, and don't know how to DVR it, apparently.

That's too bad -- I would have watched it at least once, if not more times. I will be waiting before I do a free trial.

Does All Access say how long the episodes will be up? Will it be possible to binge watch later?

No episodes of either of the other two CBSAA original access series have been removed from the service so I don't expect this one to be removed either. In fact they would be shooting themselves in the foot to do so.

I was undecided on purchasing all-access. So decided to watch the first episode and then decide. Turn on the television to the programmed time which was 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. hit record and went to work. Came home actually excited to watch my show. Turned it on hit play and what was on the screen. Oprah Winfrey and some goddamn news show. So I fast forward watching the minutes go by finally 20 minutes into my recording Star Trek started. I knew what that meant. That a show that I waited so long to watch was going to stop 20 minutes before the end. I frantically search the internet and the schedule for a rebroadcast of the same show to no avail. So I guess whoever bungled that made my decision for me. There will be no all access for me. I'm sure I can find it pirated and keep my money. Good day guys

I don't think you're the only one that happen too. The reason why you didn't get to see the whole episode. Is because of a NFL game overtime. Maybe 5 to 10 years from now, some other network will buy the series and put it on their channel?

For us Canadians, the premiere was delayed also to wait for NFL on CBS to finish. But it was being broadcast on Space channel up here which doesn't even carry football lol.

Anyone had issues where the commercial breaks cause the stream to screw up? Happened to me more than once. It's gonna kill it for me if it keeps up.
