We still need Plutonium for RTGs, if we want to explore anything past Jupiter.ridding us of all fissile material
RTG's have their uses but a nuclear thermal rocket, fusion driven rocket, VASIMIR, etc would be preferable to RTGs in a lot of settings. They're not needed for Jupitor work anymore, and NASA now has a small reactor for use as well. Hopefully RTG's are just about done.We still need Plutonium for RTGs, if we want to explore anything past Jupiter.
Since I still support exploring Europa, Titan, Enceladus, Uranus, Neptune, Triton, and other outer solar system bodies, I can't get behind eliminating fissile materials entirely.
SundayIf the Saturday launch is also scrubbed, when's the next window?
If not Saturday at 1522hrs eastern, Sunday at 1500hrs eastern. Forecasting is giving both windows about a 60% chance for success right now.If the Saturday launch is also scrubbed, when's the next window?
