US to Resume Manned Spaceflight in May

I recently read where Bezos may wind up the first trillionaire. He could afford HLLVs made of pure Iconel then.

Musk should make a point of writing Greta Thunberg—asking you join forces in making sure all genetic research is done off world—that and ridding us of all fissile material...after pushing for SpaceX to get the next stimulus...

ridding us of all fissile material
We still need Plutonium for RTGs, if we want to explore anything past Jupiter.

Since I still support exploring Europa, Titan, Enceladus, Uranus, Neptune, Triton, and other outer solar system bodies, I can't get behind eliminating fissile materials entirely.

RTG's have their uses but a nuclear thermal rocket, fusion driven rocket, VASIMIR, etc would be preferable to RTGs in a lot of settings. They're not needed for Jupitor work anymore, and NASA now has a small reactor for use as well. Hopefully RTG's are just about done.

woo.. one week till launch!

weather is not looking good for launch today. they will make a determination in an hour or so

edit: weather forecast is at 50% now

I have an inordinate amount of excitement for this, even though Musk has fallen to a very lowly point in my estimation of him lately. Just trying to focus on the efforts, and not the man as long as I can.

SpaceX has released an online Dragon- ISS docking simulator..take lots of time to dock..I haven't got it right yet...even simulated Space is hard..

I'm a bit late to this but thanks for the link.
It was interesting. I zeroed out the pitch, yaw, and roll first and then it was just a matter of translating along the x, y, and z . One goof I made early on was to apply too much negative thrust on the x axis to "slow down" so by the time I had everything set up I was half a kilometer from the station. Needless to say, my final approach rate was lit up red for a good bit, slamming on the brakes in the last 50m.

Disappointed yesterday but hoping Saturday goes off without a hitch.

Back in the 70s (Yikes!) I helped design a space docking game based on the wireframe display in 2001 A Space Odyssey, my friends and I actually got it to work
but the liability issues kept it from release..we did it in BASIC and it was brutally hard, esp without a joystick..just buttons, you had to match the spin using X and Y axis as well as approach speed...I couldn't even tell you how the program worked anymore, but was fun running on the school's mainframe..till it got removed by the Computer Department...
