Huh, I wonder why there's nothing for May? Unless they have yet to decide what to release in may.
Although, I'd be somewhat worried if the book went in a wholly different direction - say, if this book had Marcus' early Genesis research have no connection to the Shedai or the Taurus Meta-Genome, for example - and thus had some sort of knock-on effect on future Vanguard books, or would require some sort of retcon to make fit.
But Inception takes place in 2261, four years before Vanguard begins. At the time, the Shedai and the Meta-Genome wouldn't even have been discovered yet. So if anything, it would be more of a continuity error if the book did reference anything from VNG.
The impression I got from Vanguard is that the idea of the Genesis project only firmly established itself for Marcus once she was exposed to the Shedai legacy in the Taurus Reach - that the implications of what the Meta-Genome represented would have led to her efforts to create new ecosystems.
we still don't know where the decision came from, only that it didn't come from Bad Robot.
It's not surprising her fans aren't aware she wrote a TNG novel. She's essentially disowned the book.

Because 4 books were canceled at the last minute and they couldn't crank out a book fast enough? Yeah, that's probably it...
Indeed, the scheduling of Shattered Light precedes this whole mess-- we got word it was scheduled for December (so it's shifted by a month, or these dates are off as has been suggested) back in November. It was indeed on the schedule, although its position on the schedule was changed. It was initially announced for November '09, then bumped to summer '10. Now it's scheduled for November '10. So far from being unscheduled and put in now to fill the summer gap, it's actually been bumped out of the summer and delayed until the winter. That's not a consequence of the Abramsverse delays. It's presumably a consequence of the prior editorial upheavals at Pocket. And no, the MyrU anthology was not on the schedule, having been backburnered continually.
Wasn't there a new TNF trade pb on the schedule for this year? All I see is the re-print of Treason.
Im not sure what Typon Pact is about. If the books are TOS related, I might.
So I guess that actually DOES mean that Typhon Pact has been delayed a month.
So far as I know, the official schedule was always Oct10-Jan11.
well, this schedule kinda sucks. best opportunity to really sit down and enjoy a paperback is during the summer, at the beach or by the lake, and the schedule is either blank completely or just reprints between May and October. Some time off from Trek Lit, I guess...
