Unworthy

There've been really weak covers lately. I like Never-Ending Sacrifice and sort of Synthesis, but everything else announced after Troublesome Minds is pretty lame.

I think Unworthy's has shades of the opening credit sequence on Voyager - the part where the ship flies over the rings - so because of that, I like it. But I will agree that I'm not really fond of some of the upcoming covers.

Good thing we're not supposed to judge the books by those, right? :p

I'm hoping they're not actually going to be monochrome. They'd be more enteresting with color. Couldn't even decide what that was on Unspoken Truth.

Of course they'll be in color. The images are from a catalog meant for book vendors, and the catalog is printed in black & white and often contains preliminary or temporary artwork.

Couldn't even decide what that was on Unspoken Truth.

It's a Vulcan cityscape, as seen in Enterprise.

It is from the opening credits.

Yep, pretty much hate those too. Spock has the same exact expression on two consecutive novel covers?

With the way Spock's eyebrows were done in the pilots, he was kind of stuck with that "expression."

Besides, again, these are tentative cover designs. They're not necessarily the final covers; they may just be the artists' preliminary renderings.

The preliminary cover for Unworthy was Chakotay and Seven, and so clearly it's at least possible for preliminary covers to have absolutely nothing to do with the final product.

I liked that cover and wish they would have kept it. :(.
