Unsung Crew of TOS

Very nice job! Perry Lopez ("Esteban Rodriguez") -- I always remember him from "McClintock," where he played a college-educated Indian. He's always yelling about how everybody's characterizing him as the town Indian, when he wears a bunch of different hats, such as telegrapher. "Let the Indian do it!" is his sarcastic lament.

Cool beans, but would it be possible to add an asterisk or something to the unnamed if they're new to the episode?

I mainly remember him in "Kelly's Heroes".

According to Memory Alpha, m3 is John Gabriel, and f3 is Mittie Lawrence.

One thing I find fascinating is the diversity in ethnic types represented in the background. TOS really delivered on the idea of diversity even if you didn't immediately notice. It went beyond the main cast.

Well done.

There's one brunette in the "Charlie X" Rec Room scene I believe that just leaves me a little breathless.

and the women had pants! :)

Thanks for doing this.

By the way, I think Shatmandu should grab this one for a caption contest:

Very cool. I was hoping somebody would do something like this.

Next someone has to tackle why Lt. Hadley is sometimes a navigator and sometimes a security officer (not to mention a secret Organian, a Gorn, a white rabbit, and two different robots -- but that's in his off-duty hours, of course).

^Hadley is in my opinion, the true unsung hero of TOS. He's always there, on the bridge, in so many episodes. And yet for all these years I barely noticed him until the new DVDs came out with the featurettes starring Billy Blackburn.

Ah yes, that's cool.

I've read many times that Bobby Clark was in the costume, and now Blackburn confirms he did some closeups. As far as I know there's no other original source than the Star Trek Concordance saying that Gary Coombs also portrayed the Gorn.

The Gorn was played by Janos Prohaska, wasn't it (he)?
Prohaska was the Mugato and the Horta.

Memory Alpha:
'The Gorn Captain (the "Gorn") was played by Bobby Clark and Gary Coombs (uncredited in the rubber suit), and voiced by Ted Cassidy. The Gorn's costume was designed by Wah Chang, who also created the M-113 creature (aka the Salt Vampire).'

Damn it! While trying to squash a rumor, I created another one! Thanks for the correction.

Doug
