unresolved TREK

Pretty much all of the others from this thread...and BTW...I refuse to believe that 'old trek' is done.

Also, one other loose end...the entities from 'Schisms' TNG...the Solanogen based lifeforms.

^What do you mean? Picard knew it involved time travel, Tasha Yar, her father killing Tasha....you know from the events of Yesterday's Enterprise. Or do you have an fanboyish alternate timeline explaination for Sela's existence?

Actually picard doesn't know. Thats why he is baffled by her even being there claiming to be who she is. How could he since he doesn't have memories of the alternate timeline? Q might know, and could "show" him the truth..but for picard, our picard, he has no idea who or what she is.

I'm wondering just how big the war between the Anticans and the Selae got after one of their ambassadors ate the other one. On the Enterprise, no less.

Picard knows. Guinan told him in "Redemption, Part II" where Sela came from because she remembers the alternate timeline (somehow). Sela then filled in what happened after the events of "Yesterday's Enterprise".

So, Picard knows. He may not believe the story, but he was told.

I am enjoying this thread. I really thought there were no loose ends, but it seems I am in the minority... and loving it! Thanks to everyone contributing their thoughts. I am learning much.

So am I to understand if I want new trek I need to read a book?

All film trek from now on will only be in "prequal" form?

I'm new here and I'm not really sure where things are going.

What I didn't like was the whole we are gonna mine the wormhole with just the Defiant while the entire Federation fleets runs off to destroy some shipyard.

Show us that battle!!!

Give us more Romulan stuff! Surely the power hungry bastards wont stop until they at least have another crack at destroying the Klingon empire once and for all.

-I was always waiting for a followup to 'Conspiracy', but then they came up with their big new enemy for TNG, the Borg, and it was forgotten about.
- Q promised he'd run into Picard again in 'All Good Things', he never did. I was expecting DeLancie to show up in one of the TNG movies. (Back in 94, with TNG heading for the big screen, DS9 starting up, and VOY in the works, I thought Trek would go on forever... :( )
- I always wanted to see the Tosk and Hunters again. They were interesting.
- Janeway says 'we haven't seen the last of them' about the Vaadwaur. They never showed up again!
- The Species 8472 were a lost opportunity. I understand CGI was expensive, but we only saw them a couple of times.
- What happened to the Voyager crew? (haven't read any of the relaunch)
- Did Bajor ever enter the Federation?
- Did the EMH ever pick a name? (in the alternate future in Endgame, he picked Joe, but does that count?)
- The TCW. Who the hell was Future Guy?

I've always wanted to know if Lursa had her baby before she was killed in "Generations"

Yeah, one shouldn't have to read expanded universe stuff to understand the whole story.

Who knows, one day someone might do another interpretation of Trek other than JJ Abrams, but I doubt it will have anything to do with the 24th Century we're used to. The Berman era is gone.

I thought I read that the plotline intended for the Conspiracy aliens was transfered to the Borg.

^Yeah, originally they wanted the Borg to be some kind of insectoid creature, but they hadn't the budget. We didn't get to see a bigass CG creature until 8472 and the Xindi Insectoids years later.

..and thank God. The CGI even on Enterprise was 'iffy' at best...could you imagine 1989/90 CGI attempts? Then again, it could have been strings and hand puppets..Fraggle Rock was still around!!!
